Draco Malfoy and the Familial Relations

The One and Only Chapter

Teddy Lupin sat in his grandmother's sitting room for most of the morning. Andromeda Tonks was knitting her in her chair and had missed another stitch. In his eleven years he knew it was rare that she made mistakes in her knitting but Teddy knew she was nervous. Her hair was done up high and neat; the robes she wore were new and of better quality than when the Weasleys and Potters came to visit.

The letter from his cousin still sat at the kitchen table for the past couple weeks. Andromeda had been talking to her nephew for a while but he had finally asked to visit them. The old witch jolted at the nervous knock on the door. It was followed by a more confident rap on the door.

"That must be my nephew," Andromeda whispered nervously, making sure her perfectly done hair was in place. She got up from her chair with her wand in hand, to the front door. Teddy wasn't sure what to do. His hair turned snow white that likely matched his face. Swallowing down his nerves, he followed his grandmother to the door. "If you want him to leave, I can tell him to leave," Andromeda whispered in his ear before she opened the door.

Draco Malfoy stood straight with his head held high. His posture was seeping with the privilege he grew up with. Teddy Lupin looked at him with caution. In his hand was a couple gift bags that looks carefully done. Each had a tag and bow on them. His godfather had told him many things about Malfoy. His character wasn't great even if he had chosen to go against the Dark Wizards at the end.

"Hello, I appreciate you allowing me to meet with my cousin. These are for both of you," Draco Malfoy said to Teddy's grandmother, his smile made him look like he was in pain. He handed one of the bags to Gram and the other to Teddy. "Scorpius hasn't done anything wrong and I would like to see my nephew," she replied stoically, Draco's attempt at a smile fell. "But it's nice to see you too, how is my sister," Andromeda asked. Teddy hadn't heard her talk much about her sister's. Granted, Bellatrix had murdered her daughter and why Teddy was left without his parents to raise him. "She is still upset with how Astoria and I want to raise Scorpius," he said with a slight head bow. Usually Andromeda would have allowed her guests inside and offered them tea, Draco was still standing on the doorstep.

"Oh, yes, the Greengrass girl; come in, come in," finally offering her nephew to enter her home. "Show your cousin to the sitting room while I get the tea," Andromeda said, fixing her light brown hair again. "Hello, Edward," Draco said, extending his hand. Teddy just looked at it before nervously placing his own. "I go by Teddy, sir," he said quietly, Draco almost didn't hear him. "I apologize," Draco said giving a nervous chuckle.

"What made you decide to visit," Teddy asked. He had been curious as to why now was the time Draco had decided to visit. The letter that was sent was vague and did little to assure his grandmother. Nevertheless, she had allowed the visit and told Teddy if there was any business, she would tell him to leave.

"I want Scorpius to know his family. Family that doesn't judge on his blood-purity," he said evenly. "Harry and Gran say blood-purity is really important to that side of the family," Teddy said knowingly. He had asked why he didn't have more family on his parent's side and Andromeda had a long discussion that had left Teddy's mind in a whirl.

The three of them began talking and Draco told Teddy about his family. Teddy told him what the Weasleys and Harry did for fun. How his godfather let him ride on his broomstick. It still worked quite well and he even allowed Teddy to try it out when Ginny and the Weasley's could join them. His hair changed colors as he continued to talk.

The two were in the middle of discussing the Slytherin common room while Andromeda returned to her knitting, when there was another knock on the door. "Oh, he is early today," Andromeda said as she went to get the door again.
