Year 2020, a deadly virus broke out. Many people died, around 3 million in Singapore during the first month.

"Remember your mask! It's already been 2 months since the pandemic!" My father nagged at me as I was wearing my shoes. I reached out to the mask on the shelf and opened the front door. We walked to the car as quickly as possible and drove to my school.

"Seven o'clock. Just on time," I whispered while looking at my watch. I alighted the car, waving goodbye to my father. I walked towards the classroom, with fearful thoughts in my mind after seeing a poster on washing our hands often.

What if this really is the end of our country's population? I thought.

Questions that I'd never thought I'd be asking myself flooded my mind.

Where will I go? What about my parents? Will I be able to survive this pandemic?

Fast forward to 2 months from then, the amount of reportes fatalities rose up to around 5 million. There are currently 102 people left in Singapore based on the daily reports. My class of 34 pupils, 6 Perseverance, are still safe despite how rowdy we were. In fact, we actually took this pandemic a lot more seriously compared to the previous Covid-19 that was a lot less deadly.

Everyone in the class seemed tired and sick of this whole pandemic. The fact that we had plastic transparent dividers and had to keep a distance between one another strictly is not the only reason though. It's the fact that none of us got to say goodbye to our parents before they passed on due to the virus. And yes, all 34 of us lost our parents. And since there was no one to go home to, we basically lived in the class.

"I hope we survive this pandemic. This is getting tiring," Javin said, getting teary-eyed.

Everyone nodded as we wished for a better future.

"Everyone is gone. Our siblings, our parents..." Cayden added.

Sniffing could be heard from half the class while the other half let tears roll down their faces in silence. Covid-19 lasted for 9 months. We thought that we would be safe after the vaccine was found but hope began to fade when another virus was introduced to us, humans.

During the first week, there were already a thousand fatalities. The virus muatated to the point where it is even deadly to teenagers.
