It was a cold night in Portland. Amara just left her shift at the small town, Leafside, diner. Her heel's click along the poorly lit side walk. Her apartment was about ten blocks away, a long walk in a cold wintery night, but always a pleasant one.

She cut through an alleyway, trying to get home quicker. Her phone was almost dead, which worried Amara. Although the town is small, it doesn't mean that there aren't some weird people out and about at night.

As she walked down the dark alley she pulled out her phone which read 10%. As she turned on her flash to see through the alley that was not filled with an ounce of light, she heard the frantic mumbling of a woman.

"Not again, fuck." She heard the woman groan.

Amara shined the light at the woman and the look that adorned the woman's face frightened Amara. She was sickly pale and sweating, which was concerning due to the frigid temperatures. The female's eyes had fear plastered in them.

"G-get away!" The girl yelled out.

"It's okay, I'm only here to help. Can you tell me your name?" She asked.

The woman looked frightened, but what Amara did not know was that the girl was not frightened of Amara. No, the female was frightened for Amara.

"No you don't under-AHHHHH!" The lady's words were cut off from a scream of pain.

"No no stop, come on not now! Not fucking now-" The girl yells at herself.

"Ma'am do you need me to call the ambulance?" Amara asks sincerely.

"You need to run, like right fucking now." The girl states as she stares Amara dead into her grey eyes.

"Ma'am I can't-" She stops herself as she sees the woman's eyes glow a bright orange color. Amara takes a step back as the woman starts to breathe heavily.

"RUN!" The woman's voice deepened into a demonic tone as her nails grew and fangs expanded from her mouth. Her hair turned to fire as her skin started to crack with what looked like lava spewing from her skin and that was when Amara kicked off her heels and took off running.  All of her years in track came in handy as she sprinted quickly away from the woman.

But what Amara didn't know was that her speed was no match for the demonic woman's speed.

Amara heard huffing and the sound of paws slapping against the pavement of the alley. Amara turned and she quickly realized her mistake as she was slammed into the ground.

Her skin instantly burned. The monster was of wolf form, but twice her size. The wolf was black, but its eyes were filled with fire as was the rest of its body, making Amara's skin sizzle. Amara screamed, she screamed so loud she was sure she would have been heard.

But the people of Leafside lock up their doors tight. Nobody miles away would have heard her scream. No one would know Amara's skin was melting off her bones. No one would hear her treacherous cries.

The wolf's claws dug into her shoulder and dragged down her charred arm. As if no one thought her screams couldn't get louder, they did. She screamed so much she ran her throat raw. Only silent tears could now fall from her eyes and no sounds would escape her lips.

She was dying.

She's 22 and she's dying.

And before it all went black she felt the wolf's sharp fangs sink into her neck, making her back arch up from the ground.

Then all the pain left her body as her vision faded to black and she fell back to the ground.

What Amara wouldn't see next was the wolf turning back to the crazed woman.

"Fuck, Reese is going to fucking kill me." The woman scolds herself as she throws Amara's already rapidly healing body over her shoulder and takes off, ready to face her Alpha's wrath.

A/N: Hello babies, mommy is here.

So anyways, this chapter is short as fuck I know, I know, sue me.

Anyway this book, as a fair warning before any of you guys go on, is going to have very dark and mature themes.

These themes include, violence, sex (lots of it for you little horndogs out there). It will also consist of torture, and many other things that may be a trigger to some audiences. In this book there will be no warning labels. So if you have triggers and cannot handle a book of matured and dark themes, I am sorry but this book is not for you.

For my other babies that are going to continue on. You all are in for one hell (see what I did there ;)) of a ride, sorry cringy I know.

This is the first book where I actually have a plan as of how I am going to write it. So, I really hope you all enjoy it.

My negative people that are out there and love to give negative reviews, I appreciate them oh so much, but if you don't like my book I have a hint, don't read it. No one is forcing you, so why spend your day reading a book you don't like just so you can leave negative vibes. BUTTTTT, I know there are still going to be those little debby downers out there so here I am saying hello to you and I truly and utterly hope that you find your happiness.

Now if you're bashing my characters, go for it, I'll probably do it with you all as well. I love positive energy. So please leave your goofy and crazy comments, I'm always up for a laugh.

ANYYYWAYYYSSSS....... I'm done with my rant and just want you all to know that I, in reality, am really laid back, supppperrr into sports, and romance novels (The ones with the good smut in them), I love to joke around and if no one laughs at my jokes I'm sure I most definitely will.

Guys I really hope you all enjoy this book and we all get close along the way.

I love you all already even though as of right now majority of you are imaginary because I am just starting out this book.

Okay okay, I'm done. Enjoy the book, get your popcorn, and buckle up because this is going to be a long, fun, and crazy ass ride.
