🎵 Song to Play: "Safe & Sound" by Taylor Swift
✨~The world grows brighter every time a child laughs~✨
Narrator:
On the very same night that baby Harry Potter was carried away from the ruins of Godric's Hollow toward the bleak safety of Privet Drive, another child was quietly pulled from the freezing, despair-choked corridors of Azkaban.
An infant in Azkaban? No, she was older than an infant—three and a half years old, the very same age that mischief-making twins Fred and George Weasley were sleeping safely in their beds at the Burrow. Yet this was no ordinary witch or wizard's offspring.
This child carried a raw, formidable magic that even her own blood wouldn't understand—a quiet, terrifying power brought forth into a fragile, small frame with striking heterochromic eyes: one dark, obsidian iris like her mother's, and the other a luminous scarlet like her father's. She was the daughter of Bellatrix Lestrange....
Yes, not too exciting mother-wise, though just as evil via servitude to her father.
Tom Riddle... Or more commonly known as Voldemort.
Intrigued? See what happens when an even more powerful wizard takes her on as what will be known as his greatest student yet, next to Harry Potter, of course.
Third Person POV: Following Dumbledore walking the corridor of Azkaban to two doors.
The dark, cheerless stone corridors of Azkaban seemed to press in on Albus Dumbledore as he walked with purposeful strides, coming to a halt before two heavy, magically sealed iron doors.
"Dumbledore, come to visit poor little me, have ye?" a voice cooed wickedly from the left cell. Heavy-lidded, manic eyes pressed against the barred slot, fixing him with a toothy, unhinged grin.
"Not likely, Bellatrix. I am here for your daughter."
The smirk vanished instantly, replaced by a deep, visceral sneer that curled her lips.
"That thing? Next to me? That is no longer my daughter. Just a failed creation I was ordered to break until her mind shattered." Her eyes flashed with cruel delight as she pressed her face harder against the iron.
Dumbledore turned his attention to the right door, peering through the small, grimy window into the dim, freezing cell. Inside, a tiny child—just three and a half—was curled into a tight, desperate ball. She was impossibly small, ghostly pale, and half-swallowed by the gloom.
A heavy chill swept down the corridor as a Dementor glided past, pausing only to raise a skeletal hand and slide open the heavy lock on the right door.
"Dear child... the darkness grows heavy, doesn't it?" Dumbledore murmured softly, stepping just past the threshold.
"The shadows are reflections of light, and light are reflections of shadows. Combine the two to make dark echoes... echoes... echoes..." chanted a small, fragile voice from the corner.
She lifted her head, and Dumbledore's blue eyes widened fractionally behind his half-moon spectacles.
Through the barred window of the neighboring cell, Bellatrix let out a sharp, grating cackle.
"A little unnerved by her eyes, are we, Professor?" she spat, grinning maniacally at her child.
Dumbledore studied the little girl closer. Her eyes were a striking contradiction—one dark, obsidian iris mirroring her mother's, and the other a brilliant, luminous scarlet reflecting her father's, both shadowed by a quiet suffering no child should ever know.
