A few more weeks pass. On that Saturday that Mei visited, the doctor came by later. He said I had to stay in the hospital for another month since my body showed I wasn't ready before. Iwaizumi brings me homework assignments, now that I've been out of school for longer than two weeks, after he gets out of school. Mei has visited every other day when Iwaizumi has volleyball practice. He's been telling me that they're almost ready for the spring prelims. It hurts me that I can't be there for them, but once I'm out of here, I can hopefully move well enough I can watch them play.

Mei opens the door and climbs onto the edge of the bed.

"How are you, Tooru?"

"I'm good, how are you?"

"Fine."

I can tell she's not fine, but I don't say anything.

"I brought cards, do you wanna play?"

"Sure, that actually sounds fun."

She digs in her purse and pulls out a deck of cards.

"I haven't played a lot of card games in awhile, so can we start off with Go Fish?"

"Really, Tooru?" She looks baffled. "Okay, if that's what you want."

She deals the cards and starts the game.

"Do you have a six?" She says.

"Go Fish."
