The Widow Woods

Hi I'm Kaydence. I am 15. I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba with my mom, stepdad Arron and 2 little sisters Ella and Maria. I used to live in Toronto with my mom and dad, but they split up when I was 5. Then we moved to Manitoba and a year later mom met Arron. After another year they got engaged and had Ella then 3 years later Maria came. Arron is a full-time lawyer and Mom went to work at a dental office when Maria turned 3 so that leaves me with full time babysitting duties. Including Halloween! I really wanted to spend Halloween with my friends! But of course, I was stuck watching my sisters! But don't worry that Halloween was not for 1 second boring. I am going to tell you the story of the Widow Woods. It all started on October 29th I was talking to my friends Ally and Parker at Tim's (Our favourite hangout) when Jake walked up to us. The four of us have been best friends since I moved here. "What are you guys doing for Halloween?" He asked. "I have to..." I began but he interrupted "I'll tell you what you're doing!" We all looked at him perplexed "We are going to find the widow in the widow woods." We all rolled our eyes and groaned at the same time. "I can't, I have to take my sisters trick or treating." I told him. That was the only time I ever used babysitting as an excuse in my entire life. I would do almost anything before going in the widow woods. It is the scariest place in all of Winnipeg and of course I live right in front of it. But you probably are very confused of what the widow woods are, but you honestly do not want to know, and I don't want to tell you. Since we moved here, I have had so many nightmares about it. Whenever I am babysitting my sisters, I never take them to the back yard and whenever I am in the backyard, I always hear strange noises coming from the creepy forest. I know it's just a story, but it is one of the only things Jake has talked about since we were 5 years old! The first Halloween I was here he told me one Halloween we were going to go explore it. He has tried to convince us that it was the year since we turned 10. But by 15 we were sick of it so that is how the worst Halloween ever started!
