Hello, and welcome to another instalment of Compare and Contrast. While I am currently working on some separate Compare and Contrast projects, I decided to write up about a film and book that inspired the whole series; The Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi and its Disney film counterpart. This book and film are a prime example of what the series sets out to do. Whenever I bring this up in conversation, I tell people this "If you're going to read the novel and expect Disney's characterizations, get ready for a rude awakening!" Although I do feel the need to remind people that the novel predates the film by 58 years so no, Disney's version isn't the original. It's certainly the most well-known adaptation (I swear if you type Pinocchio into the Google search engine,

Disney's version will be the first result) I bring this up because of a later review that I'm planning; Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night by Filmation in 1987. But, at this point and time, Emperor of the Night is not important so, let's get right into the newest Compare and Contrast.

What we'll be covering:

· The original novel by Carlo Collodi.

· The 1940 Disney movie.

· Changes between versions.

· My own personal thoughts.

· Characters inspired by Pinocchio.

· Fun facts and trivia.
