So he let (F/N) take him by the shoulders, and position him how she wanted. Then she placed something atop his head, and he finally realized what was in that bag.
Apples.
Wait...is she going to...
She took several steps back. Something whizzed through the air, and hit the apple right off his head.
Oh...
Mitsuba, who'd been watching them from afar, clapped.
"Wow! That's amazing!"
"It's nothing much," (F/N) said bashfully. She took a kunai from her sleeve, and twirled it around on her finger. "It's just something I picked up when I was a kid. Sougo-kun likes to help me with it sometimes. Isn't that right, Sougo-kun?"
Just what the heck is going on with her today?
Even as he grew more and more suspicious, however, all he could do was nod.
"That's so cool!" Mitsuba exclaimed. "How did you get your aim so good?"
"Years of practice," (F/N) answered, taking another apple from the bag. "Would you like to see some more?"
"Yes, please!"
This time, (F/N) had him raised his arms, and balanced three apples on various parts of his body. By this point, Okita wasn't particularly afraid for his safety. (F/N) was a lunatic, but her aim was some of the best he'd ever seen. There was no way she'd hit him...by accident, at least.
For the next twenty minutes, (F/N) continued to entertain Mitsuba with her kunai-throwing. She balanced up to ten apples on Okita's body, threw upside-down, and even had him throw different numbers of apples into the air so she could aim at a moving target. By the time there were three apples left in the bag, he'd forgotten all about the bad feeling from earlier.
At least, until (F/N) walked over to him, and balanced only one apple on his head.
"Hey, Mitsuba-san," she said, holding out a kunai. "Would you like to try?"
"Oh, yes!" Mitsuba's eyes lit up, and she reached for the kunai, only to hesitate with her fingers halfway to the blade. "It's just...what if I hit Sou-kun?"
"Don't worry," (F/N) assured her, "you won't."
Are you sure about that?
But at the sight of his sister's smiling face, Okita found he couldn't move.
(F/N) showed her how to properly hold the blade, had her practice a few times on a tree, corrected her form once or twice, and then set her loose on her little brother.
The kunai flew towards him, cutting a straight line through the air, and it didn't take long for him to realize it was headed right for his face.
I knew it!
He dodged a second before it hit, watching as it pierced the tree behind him. If he'd moved any slower, he would've been dead.
Damn that girl...she found a way to try and kill me even now...
"Aw," (F/N) said, pouting, "you missed. Well, there's always next time."
"Um...are you sure this is all right?" Mitsuba asked. "What if he gets hurt?"
"He'll be fine. He's really good at dodging things, isn't that right, Sougo-kun?"
Well, yes, but I don't want to spend my day off with my sister dodging your murder attempts! That's it. I just need to say no. Call this whole thing off...
