"So how's dating life?" Mica has been teasing me non-stop since the dating rumors came out a month ago.
"Stop teasing me, naka ilang tanong ka na about d'yan," I rolled my eyes.
"You're not telling me details 'no! Gusto ko lang chumika kasi grabe biglang sikat kayo as a couple, people were talking about the two of you on social media until now!"
"They will get tired of gossiping about us soon. 'Pag may bagong chismis na, they'll get over about us."
"Bakit pala wala kang dala'ng sasakyan, girl? Nag Grab ka?" Mica asked me while typing something on her desktop. She's writing articles siguro.
"Susunduin ako ni Dominic," I casually answered her.
Humarap sa'kin si Mica at hinampas ako sa braso. "Oh my gosh!! May date pala!"
"Not really. Dinner lang sa bahay ng teammate n'ya, si Art," I told Mica as if close ako kay Art. Mamaya ko pa lang din s'ya formally makikilala. Dominic said that Art invited me kasi na-curious sila about sa'kin.
Dominic arrived in front of my office building at around six pm.
"Hi!" I greeted him when I entered his car.
"Hi," he greeted me back and handed me a cup of Starbucks frappe. "Dumaan ako kanina sa Starbucks so I got one for you din."
"Ano'ng dapat ko gawin mamaya sa harap ng friends mo?"
"Nothing, just be yourself. Baka may inuman after dinner, don't drink if you don't want to, ako na bahala."
"You can't drink din, you'll drive us home," paalala ko kay Dominic.
"If I got drunk, drive my car and take me home with you." He laughed.
"Hindi kita kayang buhatin 'pag nalasing ka. Hahayaan kita sa bahay ng friend mo, iwan na lang kita doon. Uuwi ako mag-isa," I teased him.
After an hour drive, we arrived at Art's house. Akala ko simpleng dinner lang pero mukhang may party, food's everywhere at maraming tao. Medyo nahiya ako dahil may mga kilalang personalities ako'ng nakita agad.
"I thought simpleng dinner lang 'to, Dom?" I asked Dom sa medyo iritang tono. Hindi ako ready, sana nag extra magandang outfit ako today or nag pa-parlor. Not that I'm trying to impress anyone but I don't want to look like a potato around them. At ayoko din na mapahiya si Dominic sa mga kaibigan n'ya.
"It is," Dom looked around. "They are my friends, mababait yang mga 'yan."
We walked towards the middle of the garden kung saan naka set up ang isang long table. Suddenly, I felt like I needed to throw up. Kinakabahan ako. Probably because I know I would lie more tonight. Sorry, Lord. I am just helping this poor human being.
"Hey," Dom called me. "You okay?"
I smiled at him. "Medyo kinakabahan lang, hindi ako sanay mag sinungaling."
Dom stopped walking and grabbed my hand. "Sorry, you don't have to lie more. Ako nang bahala, just please enjoy the night. Okay?"
I nodded at him. We continued walking. Art saw us at sinalubong kami.
"Dude! Wow! You really got a girl!" Art smiled at me. "Art, Dom's teammate and friend," pakilala n'ya sakin.
"Sharine," I introduced myself. "Nice to meet you. You have a beautiful house."
