Maxine and Jewel were trying to break through the vent went the heard a loud yell

"Linda!"

Maxine looked at Jewel. "You heard that right?"

"Yeah.  Let's check it out."

They quickly flew towards the sound. Maxine spotted a blue macaw. A male. Maxine stopped and nudged her friend. Jewel took noticed and began flying towards him.

While Maxine was observing she noticed the dreamy look in his eyes. Maxine almost felt bad when Jewel tackled him and stood on his throat. Maxine flew down to them.

"Your standing on my throat."

"Oh your American." Jewel got off of him and started circling him.

He cleared his throat. "Thanks. I need my throat for talking, so thank you."

"You look like me." Jewel and Maxine looked around, wondering if there were any humans around.

"Oh. Uh, hi. " He cleared his throat again. "Hi. My name is Blu. You know, like the cheese. With the mold on it. You know, that smells really bad." He began hitting himself on the head while mumbling something.

"All right, come on. We don't have much time." Maxine and Jewel flew away with Blu following.

"All right." The two looked back to see Blu trying to kiss Jewel. She pushed him off. "Whoa. Hey. What are you doing?"

"What? What... what you wanted me to. But, just for argument's sake, uh, what are... what are you doing?"

Maxine pushed aside the leaves and spoke like it was the most obvious thing in the world. "We are trying to escape."

"Oh. Uh, yeah, escape. That-that's where I was going with that thing I just did."

Jewel had another idea of what he was trying to do. "Wait. W-w-w-wait. Did you actually think we were going to kiss? We just met!"

She started going off on him about that when Blu interrupted. "I mean, I know how my feathers look, but I'm not that kind of bird."

The light dimmed and a disco ball came down and started to play a song by Lionel Richie.

"Okay, I had nothing to do with that. But, huh, you have to admit it's actually a pretty good song...Naturally...Yeah, sing it, Lionel."

He let out a surprised yell as Jewel tackled him to the floor. Maxine watched it happen with a slight smirk of amusement on her face.

Maxine was hitting the air vent with her rock when she heard a groan. 

"Excuse me. Please. I am trying to sleep."

Maxine sighed in annoyance and rolled her eyes and mocked Blu in a baby voice. "Oh, I'm sorry, sleepyhead. I'm trying to escape."

"Escape? Why? The cage is awesome."

"The cage...Oh, what was I thinking? We wouldn't expect a pet to understand."

"Pet? Did you just call me a pet? For the record, I am not a pet. I am a companion. And you know what? Do whatever you want, 'cause tomorrow morning, Linda will come for me and this whole nightmare will be over."

Maxine scoffed. "Incredible. You would rather be with a-a-a human than your own kind." She gestured to Jewel who was watching their argument.

"Well, that human has given me love and affection for the 15 years, whereas my own kind tried to strangle me after 15 seconds!"

"Yeah, well, becau-" Maxine cut herself off as she and Jewel heard a noise. They looked at each other and flew off to a side of the cage when Maxine felt something grab her. She yelled but was cut short when a bag was put over her head.
