Like any other day, I woke up with my alarm clock. Quickly, I put on my clothes and headed down stairs to get some breakfast. The silence in the house was deafening, mom was sleeping at her boyfriend-of-the-week's house for the fifth night in a row, not like I'm counting.

I take the apple from the fruit basket and check inside the cookie jar to see how much money I had left to spend on food until my mother decided to appear again. The few bucks could last a couple more days but I still had my best friend's house to crash as a last resort. I hear the car horn coming from outside and run to my bedroom to grab my backpack and keys.

"Hey Cam!" I greet as I seat on the passenger seat.

"Hey Lei! Still hasn't shown up?" He asks and a flash of pity spreads through his face.

"Yeah. Maybe tomorrow." I answer forcing a smile.

I turn on the radio and try to change the topic of the conversation but I can still see his worry throughout the car ride.
We were polar opposites in what comes to hobbies and likes and because of that, we only had two subjects in common. English and Physics. So like most of the time we part ways in school, each to their own class.

I smile to all the people I pass on the hallway and head to my first class of the day in a fast pace, reminding myself that I only had to put up with this for six more months until I was faraway from this city in some fancy college with a volleyball scholarship. I had to keep a positive mindset.

At the end of the day we had the pep rally. For this school the girl's volleyball team was very important, more than the football or the basketball team, I mean we were champions for three years in a row, the school took pride in us and loved to show off all of our accomplishments.
I was captain for 3 years now, yes since I was a sophomore. This weekend's game was pretty important as it was against one of the best teams of our league.

As usual, I had to give my little captain speech. Don't get me wrong, I love what I do! I just hate this little petty things that come with it, I only want to play.
After our team got applauded and my speech, some sophomore band went on stage, I was not a fan of the music but they had a pretty good dancing routine.

I was about to leave the stances when I noticed a girl approaching the piano on stage and decided to seat back down while everyone scurried to be in front of the stage. The girl had a beautiful voice, not gonna lie, but what was truly mesmerizing was the band that came out of thin air midway through the performance. How did she do that!?

I started walking down the stairs and to the front of the stage, I locked eyes with the bassist and he winked at me playfully, I scrunched up my nose confused. What is this?
I moved my eyes to the guitarist and I was dumbfounded by his good looks, he was my type on paper and I couldn't hide how flustered I got when he saw me staring. I noticed a smirk forming on his lips and looked away to the energetic girl that jumped and sang. They were good.

I applauded with everybody when the performance finished and seconds later the boys disappeared. Everybody started throwing questions at the girl that I learned was called Julie and she answered saying they were holograms. Then how did they see me? This doesn't make any sense.

"Are we sure they can't see us?" I heard from besides me. I see the bassist going up a few steps and shaking his ass. "Yeah. No, they can't see us." He realized coming back down.

"I wish I couldn't see you." The blonde one mumbled. My mouth was on the ground with shock.

"What the fuck?" I asked a little louder than I intended.
