A Day With Xavier (I Hope I Don't Regret This).

"Babe, that's not a nice thing to say," Jerko said with a frown.

"Shh. I'm not getting rid of you neither do I mind the girls. My problem is with the boys, especially Roy and Simon."

"Hey!" Simon whined.

"What's your problem with me Sky?! I swear I haven't done a thing to you," Roy said as he shook his head in confusion.

The group started bickering again while Xavier's eyes were solely set on me.
"What do you mean by 'He's taking you guys'? You aren't coming with us?" he asked with a raised eyebrow. I swear one day I am going to get into major trouble because of his perceptiveness.

"No," I said firmly as I looked him in the eye. "I don't feel like going shopping today."

"That's a bummer," Simon said with a pout. "You aren't coming with Austin for his birthday?"

"Yeah, I mean you don't have to stay alone," Kells said. "We don't need to go shopping, maybe we can change plans?"

"No, guys, seriously. All of you guys go ahead. I'll be fine here."

Jen must've seen that I needed some alone time because of which she said, "I'm sure she'll be alright, guys. I mean, we all have days when we don't feel like doing much."

I smiled at her gratefully and she winked at me.

"I don't like this," Jerko said from beside me. "I don't like this at all."

"I'll give her company," Xavier suddenly said.

"No, I don't want your company," I said childishly.

"We aren't going to leave you here alone, Veronica, and we have some things to discuss anyway," said Xavier.

"I like the idea," Jerko said. "Ver, if you want us to go then Xav needs to stay or else we all will stay here with you."

My mouth was wide open in shock. That betrayer. When did he become okay with Xav and I spending time together?! The last time I checked he felt left out!
I then thought over his ultimatum. I would hate myself if Jerko had to spend his entire birthday in a dull mood with me. If the other option was hanging out with Xavier.....I guess I had no choice.

"Fine," I huffed as I crossed my hands over my chest. "You guys go. I'll stay here with Xav."

Everyone got ready to leave after about 10 minutes. Just before Jerko stepped out of the door he came, gave me kiss on my forehead and said, "I'll see you soon, SpongeBob. Call me if you need me and I'll come to you the next second."

"I will."

"See you later man," Jerko said to Xavier with a smile.

Xavier returned his smile and nodded.

Soon it was only the two of us left with an awkward air surrounding us.

"I'm sorry if I made you upset," Xavier said as he looked at me apologetically. "And if that's the reason why you didn't feel like going out today, please don't do this."

I scoffed at that and said, "Everything isn't about you, Xavier. While you did upset me today, that isn't the reason I'm voluntarily missing my best friend's birthday."

"Then what's wrong?"

"I am not interested in playing 20 questions with you today, Xav."

He gave a defeated sigh and said, "You want to come for a drive?"

"A drive?"

"Yeah. We can drive around the city if you want."

"Okay, we'll go to the nearby tracks instead then," I said, giving in.
