"But I want to be a great grandpa and both of them would make cute kids," Gramps pouted.
"This isn't inappropriate at all," dad said sarcastically as he rolled his eyes.
"Imagine it, Lily! Us being the coolest and youngest great grandparents!!! Well, at least I will be, I don't know about you."
He got a slap for that from my grandmother.
"I'm not ready to have this conversation again, especially under 12 hours," I mumbled.
Xavier looked at me in confusion as I said that while my grandfather continued his rant.
"I want a granddaughter with grey eyes like Xavier, a grandson with brown eyes like you Ver and two twins with green eyes like a snake. They should be scary so that I can shove them into the faces of our annoying neighbours so that they will run away and wont bother us again. I mean, I don't care if Mrs. Robertson's son has joined the NASA or if their cat eats homemade cookies! Also, if you guys haven't had sex yet and want help setting up the mood I'll tell you about the time your grandmother and I had sex for the first time and what I had done. I-"
"Okay, I'm pretty sure none of us want to hear that," said dad cutting him in. "Bye honey, we'll talk later," and with that the call was disconnected.
"Oh, thank God," I sighed in relief.
"Veronica," said Xavier turning towards me and giving me his full attention. "What did you mean by not having the same conversation under twelve hours? Who else did you speak to about us having kids within the last 12 hours? I was there with you through almost all of it."
I gave him an expression that said 'Who do you think?' and all the colour drained from his face.
I got a message from dad while Xavier was on his silent fest that said:
We were going to speak to you about today on the call but we then saw Xavier beside you and weren't sure if you had told him yet. I don't want to unnecessarily spoil your mood when you are as it is doing great today by the looks of it, but if anything is wrong and you need to talk someone about her, you know who to call.
P.S. I know you aren't really dating that boy but if there is any chance for it to actually happen in the future, tell him I approve.
Love you.
My heart sank a little at her mention but I tried to let it go. I quickly sent him the rolling eyes emoji and told him that I am fine. Jerko and Jen might be worried as is about today too....I don't want to trouble them by thinking too much into it.
"I know I am going to regret asking you this," Xav said as he snapped me out of my reverie. "But what exactly did I say yesterday?" he asked nervously.
"Hmm. Let's see," I said with a smirk as I got up from the bed and humoured him. "You started off with wanted to punch Jerko for dancing with Jen because you thought I had feelings for him and I would feel bad. You stopped after I told you that I didn't like him that way though."
He got that silly look on his face again which I gladly ignored and continued, "I brought you back here. You called me gorgeous. You called yourself a troll. You said our babies would be really good looking and you asked me to allow you to name them after your parents."
He tensed as I started listing the things that happened yesterday one by one. His reaction brought me immense joy and entertainment so naturally, I continued. "You asked me to marry you right there and then and I had to burst your bubble by telling you that we aren't even dating in the first place. You then proceeded on to say that sober Xavier is henceforth your least favourite and the most idiotic person you know."
He rubbed his face as if tired and said, "I'm sorry, Veronica. I'm sorry you had to see all of that."
"Hey, I enjoyed watching you act all drunk and wasted a lot so don't worry!"
