we live in a world where you get a promise mark when you make a promise. if you break the promise, promise mark will be permanent, meaning people will know that you broke a promise.

"hey, kacchan!" yelled small 4-years-old boy with green hair and freckled face.

"yeah, izuku?" answered a bit taller boy with blonde spiky hair.

"let's get married once we're old enough!"

"huh- o-okay," the blonde blushed a little.

"do you promise?"

"i promise."

greenette just grinned an adorable smile and started to run around the place.

"BAKUGO!" yelled tired-looking-like teacher angrily at the blonde, "pay attention in ny class."

"o-oh, sorry.." he said. you could hear whispering around the class, 'zoning out because of you again, huh, nerd...'

the blonde, bakugo, was in his second year of high school on a prestigious school, U.A. high school. it was his and izuku's dream school since they were little.

he stoof up from his seat and started to walk to his next class. when he got into the classroom, all eyes were on him.

he quickly shifted to his seat. when he reached to take out his pen, he realized that he forgot it and now, he didn't have anything to write with. so he decided to ask a short girl with brown hair and pink cheeks for one.

"u-um... could i b-borrow a pen, ple-" he got cut off by the girl.

"no! you've had that mark on your cheek for years! i'm not gonna give a pen to a promise-breaker!" she said harshly.

"o-oh... sorry," bakugo mumbled.

"here, you can take mine," said a boy with red, spiky hair and sharp teeth.

"thank you, i promise, i'll give it back," bakugo said with a little smile. new promise mark appearing on his cheek.

"hey! um... here's your pen," bakugo said when he approached the redhead on a hallway, his mark disappearing as soon as the redhead touched the pen.

"so you can keep promises! why do you still have that mark then?" the redhead asked. bakugo's face saddened a bit.

"i can show you after school."

×××

"where are we going?" the redhead, apparently called kirishima, asked when they left the school grounds.

"to meet the person i made this promise with," bakugo said wirh small sad smile.

"what was the promise?"

"i promised them to karry them when we get older," bakugo replyed.

"well, aren't you going to?"

bakugo stayed silent.

"we're here," bakugo said, as he stopped walking.

"is this cemetery?"

"come."

×××

"hey, nerd... it's been a while, huh?" bakugo said as he squatted in front of small grave, taking out a lighter and lighting up a candle, "i brought someone today. his name is kirishima, he's pretty chill," bakugo continued, "i've been thinking about you a lot more lately, probably because i miss you a lot," he stayed silent for a little while, "mom and auntie miss you a lot... you're an idiot, you know..."

"what happened to him?" asked kirishima after a while of silence.

"he died when we were 13, got hit by a car. i told him not to come after me, vut he did... what a dumbass," bakugo said sadly.

"i'm so sorry to hear that."

"it's fine, it happened a long time ago..."

it was silent once again.

and it was hard for bakugo ro not burst into tears.

but he didn't.

izuku didn't like it when he cried.

he had to stay strong for izuku.

"you really can't keep promises, huh, nerd?" bakugo said, one single tear escaping his red eyes, "god... i miss you so much, idiot..." he knelt down and hid his face in his palms.

kirishima knelt down next to him, rubbing his back in a comforting motion.

and so bakugo cried.

he cried a lot that day.

and kirishima could see a boy with broken heart, a boy in pain.

but izuku was happy. happy that bakugo found someone who he could rely on.
