Chapter 2: Shikon

Shikon had always been a loner- an outcast. Abused by his parents until he was smart enough to run. When he heard that his parents died at the exact time he was born on his 19th birthday, he was relieved. He was hard-headed an a bit of a rebel. He enjoyed sleeping in caves in mountains an forests for some odd reason. He just felt like it was the right place to be.

The day after his birthday, Shikon was feasting on a chicken at a tavern in the middle of his forest. It was closed, but he snuck in and was watching TV. He couldn't completely ignore the outside world. He heard that two girls were arrested for murdering their parents. "A little harsh if you ask me," He chuckled. "Why didn't I think of that?" When he saw the mug shots, he was shocked. "Damn! Well, you know what they say: The hottest ones are the craziest ones!" Shikon took another bite of his somewhat freshly baked chicken. He looked closer and choked. "Th-that's..." He stared at the mark on his left palm. "Something weird is going on." He staggered his way out of the tavern, determined to answer his question.
