I know people will SMITE me for this, but hear me out, its more possible than you think.
I know they barely have any actual interaction in the anime/manga, but if you think about it, what about outside the events?
Obanai was saved by the fire pillar when he was 12, Kanae and Shinobu was saved by the rock pillar the same age, what if Obanai, Rengoku, Shinobu and Kanae are actually pretty close??? just.. think about it??? like if not they had that small childhood crush type of trope but Obanai ended up with Mitsuri instead, Shinobu ended up alone as she was a little too focused on revenge over Kanae, like b r o, the possibilities, they could be really close friends but no one really knew because the manga was cut short we all never really got into depth with what has happened other than the arcs-
ShinoGiyuu and ObaMitsu stans don't kill me, it's just a possibility
