Stuffing my phone into my hoodie pocket, I quickly ran up the stairs of my basement and practically ripped the door open. I was greeted with blackout windows. But I could still see through them. But there's only one problem. I'm losing the house.

"We did this for you so that you'd still be able to see outside even when the sun's up." Alice grabbed my hand and dragged me to the living room.

"And before you say anything, cause we can read you like a book." Ryan started.

"We bought the house." AJ finished.

I stared at the four people standing in my living room, wondering how I was so lucky to have them. I burst out crying and fell into the arms of Ryan who just held me close.

"Thank you. Thank you guys so much." I sobbed and they all come around me, making one big group hug.

After that session, I made my way to my bedroom and started packing clothes, essentials and some books and stuff I could read while I'm there. I packed a picture of me and the group. I couldn't help but pause and look at it, reminiscing the time when I took it.

I was standing on the bleachers while AJ, Alice and Issa were screaming at the top of their lungs. I couldn't help but join them. There was only 30 seconds left of the game and the score was 1-1. We could see Ryan getting stressed out quickly. I quickly sent him a text as he stupidly kept his phone tightly secured around his bicep. Idiot. The ball was over the other side of the pitch, he had a couple seconds to read it.

To < Ryan <3
I'm proud of you.

He always over stressed and thought that no one would be proud of him if he didn't score a goal, even if he is our star striker.

He checked it and immediately met my eyes. I nodded and he smiled. He slipped the phone back into the band on his arm and took off for the ball. Tackling his opponent,  he took possession of the ball and with only 5 more seconds to go, he dodged and swerved and we started to count down the last seconds of the game.

Shoot shoot shoot.

Ryan kicked the ball which graded the goal keepers gloves and hit the back of the net.

BEEP

We'd won! We won against our rival team and our school was going to state championships. Ryan was going to get a scholarship so he needed to win this match.

Everyone changed his name but I raced down the bleachers, ignoring the Barbie bitches that started at me on my way down.

As soon as I reached the grass, my legs carried me all the way to Ryan who was still on the pitch surrounded by his team mates. One of them saw me at the last minute and I shoved my way past him and the other guys on the field. I locked eyes with Ryan and jumped into his arms as his wrapped around my waist and twirled me around in the air. We laughed and smiled, so much so that my checks were hurting but I just couldn't stop. This was my big brother. The man who was so protective of me. The man who was always there for me. I couldn't be prouder of him even if I tried.
