It was a simple Tuesday morning and another sleepless night for Kenma Kozume, as usual he was up all night streaming a new game he has just bought the night before, he stayed up even though it was his first day in his high school. Kenma was slightly nervous and that nervous butterflies feeling in his stomach gets worse and worse the closer it got to him going. As a child Kenma loved playing a sport called volleyball it was really the only sport Kozume was really intereted in since the was not the sporty type. Yes, Kozume may be the shy kid but believe it or not he is extremely talented despite his height and him being on the shorter side of the scale.
As Kenma walked through Nekoma he walks past a gym where he hears encouraging cheers, he thinks maybe there is a sports game going on. He decides to walk towards the gym doors as he hears someone yell 'nice kill kuroo' he knew by the point that it was a volleyball club and he slowly debated whether he should join. should I? no. they already sound like there good I would just hold then back. he walks away slowly now and again he would look back at the gym.
after a few days of building the courage to sign up for the volleyball club and it was his first day of training with then so the goes into the changing rooms placing his bags down he takes out his clothes and changes, he had just finished changing as some other people from the volleyball club walk in and obviously they knew about him joining and they were talking about how exited they are too meet the new arrival to the team . as most of them are thought the door and they look up they see Kenma sat there on his switch gaming before practice officially started. Kenma was in his own little world as he heard someone go "excuse me are you the new first year for the volleyball team" Kenma looked up shyly and nodded slightly and said in a quiet tone "yes i am, I'm Kenma Kozume, nice to meet you" Kozume stood up as kuroo one of the team members make a comment about his height then followed it with "what position do you play" Kozume looked at him "one I may be short but you haven't seen me play yet so judge me after you've seen me play and two the position i play is setter"
after the rest of the team had introduced themselves they walk out to the gym Kenma walking behind them all, as he isn't used to big ish gatherings, they all enter the gym all perfectly set up and ready to start practice. Kuroo couldn't seen to keep his eyes off of Kozume what was he feeling was the attracted to Kenma. practice finishes as they all complement Kenma's setting skills as he adjusted to each persons ability and how smart he is about thinking were it is best to set and who to set it too.
Kenma walked back to the changing room to gab his things, he wasn't a fan of getting back changed after practice and getting his uniform sweaty although he was going to wash it anyway. He got his things and as he was walking out he was greeted by Kuroo and a few other members as they ask Kozume if he wanted to hang out with the team and go for some food, they had the eat well since they had a practice game after tadeka, karasuno's volleyball adviser, wouldn't stop ringing and asking for a practice game so they start making meal plans for everyone so they could preform to the best off their ability. Kenma accepted to the one condition that he could play his game while they where out
It was a few hours later and it seems Kenma was the last to arrive he hears kuroo excitedly say "Kenma you made it!!" Kenma looked up from his game nodding, when Kuroo made the eye contact with Kozume he felt his heart beating fastly and in Kuroo's head where thoughts filled with things like:
"what is this feeling"
"do i like him"
"i mean he is cute.."
Kuroo was really exited to see that Kenma came as he didn't expect it to actually come to the meet up for food but as the walk in Kenma pulled Kenma to the side and thanked him for inviting him to get food since he was never really invited to these things and kuroo felt little bad for him and invited him to have a sleepover just them two. Kozume thought hard but eventually after zoning out for what had felt like 20 minuets he said yes. Kuroo hugged him tightly thanking him repeatedly
after the meal Kuroo and Kenma head to Kenma's place so he could grab is stuff to head to Kuroo's as the walk in and Kuroo looks around and seeing how fancy it was, Kozume really wasn't one to brag about his wealth since he wasn't that type. they was up to his room and as Kenma opened the door Kuroo goes "WOAHHH your room is so cool! I love it!"
