It was like Hitoshi had almost practiced shooting before the apocalypse even happened.
What would he have practiced shooting at? Humans? He shivered at the thought.

"Haha, I strongly believe you're overestimating me. My aim isn't good. Tell me something to shoot and I'll try," the former challenged.

Izuku craned his head around stores and the sidewalk.
"Hmm~ how about that can over there?" He pointed to a soda can left on the sidewalk.

Why does that look new? Hitoshi asked himself internally.
"Okay.. Sure..?" He furrowed his brows.

"Why are you looking at that can like it's your true love? Or rather, your enemy?" Izuku stared at it too in confusion.

The lavender haired man raised his gun and shot it lazily.
"... See? I'm not good," he mumbled.

Izuku scrunched his nose. "That was easy though! You just missed it on purpose!" He exclaimed.

Hitoshi scrunched his nose. "No?"

"I'm confuzzled," He said softly. "It looks like somebody was already here?"

Izuku tried not to giggle at the man next to him. Confuzzled? Hitoshi seems like the last guy to say that.

"Maybe there's like a group of people wanderi-"

Bang!

Ooh, yup. Izuku was definitely right.
"Let's follow the noise!" He skipped ahead to the intersection.

A zombie from nearby hissed and slowly walked over to Izuku. Hitoshi slightly panicked but immediately calmed down with a chuckle when he saw the greenette stab in it the head.

Izuku beamed with a thumbs up from afar and waited for Hitoshi to catch up.
"C'mon, slowpoke!" He squeaked.

"I'm coming, sheesh!" He laughed.

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

"Oooh! Oh- I guess there's a lot of zombies where they are.." Izuku said worriedly.

"I'm so hungry I could snap somebody's neck." Hitoshi growled at nobody in particular.
Izuku jumped back slightly.

"Me too... My head is hurting because of it. But it's alright." He said with his usual smile.

Hitoshi's face softened at those last two words.
"You're so optimistic."

Bang!

Bang!

Izuku jumped and walked behind Hitoshi now. "There's no w-way there's that many zombies, right?"

"There's no way," Hitoshi said reassuringly. Most zombies are found in parking lots or around playgrounds anyway.

Hitoshi suddenly zoned out while he was walking, his vision becoming unfocused. He didn't know what he was thinking about in that moment.

"Morning, ya little rascal." A familiar voice said. My adoptive father, drinking coffee. "Hi Pop..." I mumbled, rubbing my eye and sitting right next to him at the table.

"You hungry?" He asked. I looked up at him, a little confused.
"Hmmm. Yea." He got up and started making something.

"Hey babes! How are ya hon?" My adoptive mother patted my head.
"I'm good, mommy." I outstretched my arms, signaling to be picked up.

I giggled in my mother's arms. They were much better than my biological family could ever be.
"Let's go see what Pop is making."

"Mhm..!" I yawned.
"You're a sleepy little kitten! Why don't you go back to bed, and I'll wake you up in a few minutes." I remember her saying while nuzzling her nose against my cheek.

"Hehe! No, I wanna see Pop! And Eri and Ai!" I squirmed and laughed.
She kissed my forehead before letting me go see our cat.

"Ai!" I ran over to the small, sleeping animal, who trilled in response and began purring. I remember petting her for a while before being called back in to the kitchen.

"Hitoshi, hon! Breakfast!"

I meandered into the kitchen and sat at the table where my plate was. "Be careful, it's hot. Just blow on it a little." My Pop told me.

(that sounds- ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ffs I'm so sorry)

"Like those wishy flowers?" I asked, blinking slowly. "Yeah, like a 'wishy flower'." My dad ruffled my hair.

"Where's Eri-chan?" I whispered.
"She's sleeping in her crib, you can go see her if you'd like, she adores you." My Pop whispered back.

I smiled and slid off of my seat, sneakily walking into Eri's small room. "Eri-chan~ it's me!" I whisper-yelled.

Eri cooed happily when she saw my face. I put a finger to her tip of her nose and poked her gently. She giggled and raised her much smaller hand to hold the finger.

I looked at her, a little shocked,
and began to cry when she had smiled at me.

"... Hitoshi!?" Izuku interrupted his thoughts with a confused exclamation.

Hitoshi turned to Izuku and saw blood on his face. "What happened? Are you okay?"

"Yes, I'm fine, just killed three zombies but-! Are you okay!?" He stared at him with wide eyes.
"Where did you go!?"

"How do you mean?"
"You spaced out while we were walkin' and talkin' and stared at the ground with no expression!?"

"I was thinking." Hitoshi stated calmly, wiping the zombie's blood off of Izuku's face using his sleeve.

The greenette blushed softly but proceeded to lower Hitoshi's face to his, squishing the male's cheeks.
"What's going on?"

Hitoshi blinked slowly.
"I don't know." He stared into Izuku's eyes like he was looking for an answer.

The former sighed, his voice soft as he glided a small finger along Hitoshi's cheek.
"Why won't you tell me what's wrong?"
