"I used to play there too."
"Really!?" Izuku asked, mildly excited.
"I remember seeing this one kid, he would always sit on the bench and watch the others... He always looked tired. I hope he's not... Y'know... Dead now."
Izuku looked down at his feet, frowning. Hitoshi sighed at looked up at the hazy sky. The sun was setting, and for once, something actually looked beautiful.
"Did you ever ask him what his name was? Or get to know him?" He asked, taking a glance at the now rotting bench.
"No... And I regret it so much! He'd always stare at the swings, and I never saw his parents around." Izuku began to sniffle.
"Hey, don't be sad. I'm sure he's doing just fine."
How does he not recognize me? Well, he hasn't really gotten to see my face. Hitoshi thought to himself.
I'm kinda surprised he remembers going to that park though.
"But what if he isn't?"
"He's perfectly fine."
Hitoshi said.
Izuku stared at his lilac eyes and suddenly felt a sense of familiarity. "Eh...?"
The former shook his head with a chuckle. He flipped his hood down, revealing wild lavender hair, and pulled his mask down. "Hm?"
Emerald eyes widened as a wide smile spread across his face.
"You're! You're him! He's you?!" He beamed.
"Uh-huh. That was me.."
"Why'd you always look so sad..?"
The smaller man asked with a frown.
"I'd rather not say. But I'll just put it like this; it wasn't healthy." Hitoshi explained quietly.
"People eventually found out about my... Situation... And I got adopted by a different family. How they acted was kinda weird to me." He trailed off, his voice becoming softer.
"Weird how? I'm sorry if it's a touchy subject, you don't have to tell me!" Izuku squeaked.
"No, no. It's fine. They were just really nice. And they made me feel- wait," Hitoshi stopped himself and shot a zombie in the leg, sighing tiredly.
It somehow followed them, dragging it's living corpse slowly against the gravel.
"Please fuck off..." Hitoshi mumbled and shot it in the head.
"Anyway, where was I..?"
Woah.
"How they made you feel?"
"Ah, right. They made me feel like I'm actually apart of something? They didn't.. Uh..." Hitoshi paused.
"Hmm. I dunno what it was. But I'd give anything to see them again," He stated with a small smile.
There was a comfortable silence between the two, only the sound of small rocks crunching under their feet filling their ears.
Hitoshi felt eyes on him and looked at Izuku, who's eyes were filling with tears.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to get soft on you. I get a little carried away with things someti-"
"No- No apologizing! It probably felt good to get that off your chest! You can't apologize! I'm apologizing!"
"... Why?"
A perplexed look spread across Izuku's face. "Why"?
"Becauseee! I should've talked to you to begin with, but I didn't because I thought you'd ignore me! If I approached you and talked than we would've become best friends!!" He explained with excessive hand movements.
