The Aftermath - A Draco Malfoy Sequel

Chaper One - Introduction

As Draco linked arms with his adoring mother, Narcissa, they walked further and further away from the war; not far followed by Lucius. The look on Draco's face said it all. 'No way is Harry alive?' is exactly what it said. He couldn't just leave like this. It wasn't the right thing to do. For once, he had a heart filled with hope. Maybe Potter can defeat The Dark Lord!
At the end of the bridge Draco broke the link with his mother and turned so that his face could be seen by both of his parents. He took a big look around. Every last bit of brick was smashed or chipped, Hogwarts had caved in and there was bodies all around the cliff and river below. All you could hear was the screams in the distance, it seemed to completely mess with any single train of thought.
"This," Draco stated, "this is what I always feared. Mother and Father. My friend's are in there. Friends, people who accepted me for who I was; no matter how nasty I seemed. Good people who inspired me to try to be the best version of myself. People I turned away from because of you. I turned away because of the way you influenced me. I'll never forgive you for the ways that you manipulated me. My real family need me, while you just act like you need me but you just desire me so that i can make you seem like the kind of people The Dark Lord needs."
Lucius and Narcissa took a long stare at each-other, while young Malfoy turned around and marched away from hogwarts quickly and towards Hogsmede village. He was heading there to receive help. Draco knew this aftermath was his worst nightmare, but he knew just where to begin...
Before he reached the archway entrance to Hogsmede, he heard a faint cry behind him.

"Draco, darling. Please wait," Narcissa panted, trying to keep up, "I must tell you something".
Draco kept walking, picking up speed as his feet trotted along the stones.

"I'm leaving your father. For us. Me and you, Draco. A fresh start. Mother and Son. Please, wait. Let me help you. Let me help you, help them.".
