A/N: I'm trying to get my creative juices flowing as I start working on my IOP (I'll be pretty inactive til that's done on Friday) and this is what came of it xD

Cornfield

I see you, you know

Your golden locks fluttering in the breeze;

Sparkling in the afternoon sun

I always come by and find you

Sitting alone in the cornfield;

Nimble fingers toying with unripe husks.

Sweetie, why do you do that?

There’s a whole world outside

If only you poke your head out from between the stalks

And take a deep breath of the fresh air

The world does not smell of dirt and corn

All you have to do is get out of your shell

I come by again, and there you are.

Sitting alone cross-legged in the soil

Hoping no one will see you.

Your jeans are smudged with green and brown;

A reflection of your eyes.

May I sit with you?

I’d like to take the time to get to know you

Your presence intrigues me

And I would like to know your story

For no matter what your past is

Or the dark thoughts that swirl through your head

My dear sister, I will always love you
