Late Night Surprise

Sitting at the computer for a 24 hour live stream was quickly turning out to be a major mistake. With text-to-speech on and cheaper than it probably should be it was getting difficult for you to even really play Minecraft rather than just yelling back and forth with the voice and the donations. You were 20 hours into this adventure and beginning to get beyond loopy. College had you used to pulling all-nighters, but never such high energy ones without a break in sight.

Yet another donation rolled in, for a fairly high amount, and before you could properly finish thanking the donator you wound up with your head smacking your desk out of frame. That droning voice read numbers 1 through thirty two before you finally skipped it just to hear yourself think if only for a second.

While you were in the home stretch, the end felt eons away standing in your base motionless and out of frame as nonsense after nonsense came rolling in. After the next garbage spam of whatever that rolled in was finished the next notification to come up was a raid notification. Your eyes widened near to bursting seeing the massive number of new viewers you were receiving.

"Umm... ok thank you so much Jschlatt!" you near screamed, your hand over your mouth as you stilled in your chair. More people than had ever been in your stream, possibly double were flooding in such you didn't begin to notice how many comments were getting deleted by your mods, or the fact they were practically forced to throw it in slow mode.

Before long another donation rolled in, again a surprisingly high one, from Jschlatt. "Thought I'd share the pain ya dumb broad have fun with these fucks" the voice read out, and before you could be offended you doubled back over onto your desk laughing. Who the fuck is this? You had no real choice but to table that question for after these next four hours were up, but within another ten minutes you'd increased the donation limit on text-to-speech, twice.

When the twenty four hour mark began to creep up you started getting offers for some pretty big numbers to keep going. Another hour for 30 gifted subs?

"Look I get it you guys are used to a gremlin streamer but no simping in my chat alright?" you joked, shaking your head wondering if it might be a mistake to hurl around even vague insults at this streamer you'd never heard of.

In the end you were convinced to continue streaming a good couple hours after you were supposed to stop. It was when the edges of your vision started to blur and some major signs of intense exhaustion started that you simply had to cut if off.

Rather suddenly you were much less tolerant of the memes this new set of viewers brought along.

"One thousand you simps or I'm shutting it off in five seconds" you challenged, with a tone that no one would take you up on it. When two seconds later a donation rolled in you jumped as though a creeper exploded behind you.

"Oh you fu-" it was only a few dollars, and was in fact one of your regulars insisting it was time to sleep. At that you nodded and pulled the headset off, ending the stream. As soon as everything was closed and done you already regretted that hostility at the bitter end, but after roughly 27 hours no sleep and full streaming mode anybody would be cranky.

It seemed your phone was ready to explode with new notifications, but you put it in silent mode and left it on your desk. There was no way you were going to be useful to anyone with this exhaustion still hanging around.

Every part of your nightly routine was skipped against your better judgement. Everything from brushing teeth to changing clothes was brushed over in favor of immediately passing out in bed, the adrenaline of streaming dead the moment your apartment was quiet. When morning came you would realize that included in this lack of routine was even forgetting to set your alarm, whoops. Lucky you for clearing the schedule.
