With nervous hands, I opened the door and saw four long tables with four different banners on the top. The ceiling very much looked like the night sky, which was very interesting. I saw Headmaster Dumbledore gesture me over to him. When he did, most of the students shushed up and look at me as I walked between the Gryffindor table and the Ravenclaw table. I deducted that they were all staring because of my really curly black messy hair, my blacked out dress drapes or because they've never seen a more beautiful person up until now.

When I reached Dumbledore, he cleared his throat and said, "Welcome to Hogwarts, Miss Lestrange. I'm sure you are happy to be here as I am."

"Thank you, Professor," I replied, shaking his hand. "I am very excited."

He got the whole school's attention and said, "Ahem. I know we don't usually take transfer students in the middle of the semester but because of remarkable circumstances, we have made an exception. Everyone, please welcome Echo Lestrange."

When the my last name was said, students on the dinner tables started to murmur my mother's name and whispered to their other friends, making false accusations of me. I sighed and rolled my eyes. As I looked at the Slytherin table, most of them were grinning at me. I gave them a wink back.

"She has just transferred from Beauxbatons and will be starting sixth year. Now, we will start her sorting. Professor McGonagall, the Sorting Hat, please?" Dumbledore asked.

"Yes, of course," Professor McGonagall said, grabbing a worn out, brown hat and placed a stool and I sat on it, with pride.

She placed it on my hat on me and I felt every single eyes on me on that moment. The hat spoke, "Ah, a Lestrange. This will be an easy pick. You seek attention and real friends. Obviously, I'm going to put you in SLYTHERIN!"

The whole Slytherin table cheered and clapped for me. I took a small curtsy and sat next to a person that I recognized, my cousin, Draco Malfoy. Some Slytherin already welcomed me and complemented me. I thanked them and turned to my cousin.

"What's up, cousin?" I said, rather loud, just for the attention.

"She's your cousin, Draco? You guys look completely different!" A girl with short black hair said. "I'm Pansy Parkinson, by the way."

"Nice to meet you, Parkinson," I replied. Draco finally turned to me and nodded at me. "Is that all you're going to give me? A nod? We haven't seen each other in ages!"

"It's not a very happy time for family reunions, Echo," He said, not looking at me.

I rolled my eyes and followed his gaze. He was looking at the notorious Harry Potter. I never saw the appeal of Harry Potter. It was because of him that I have never met my mother. If he was dead that day that his parent's died, then my mother and I would be together. I was still glaring at him and when I did, his Mudblood friend and blood traitor friend both turned to me and stared at me back. I shook my head slightly and turned back to the other Slytherins.

Pansy, who I knew was going for Draco or Blaise, was blabbing all about her parents and what she had achieved in the summer. I sighed and nodded, pretended that I was listening, but I was trying to sort out what was going to happen in my life at Hogwarts.

Ever since I knew who my mother was, I knew the burden that came with having Lestrange as a last name. Even here, I can already tell that I have a couple of enemies, but that's the fun of being me. You are someone special to the person, either love or loath. Some people may not like it, but I LOVED it. I love attention, all kinds of it!

"Miss Lestrange?" I heard a deep dark voice behind me. I turned around and saw a tall dark man with greasy hair and blunt eyes. I already knew who he was.
