Chocolate Oats!

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups milk of your choice (it can be normal dairy milk, or almond milk)

1 cup rolled oats

3 tablespoons maple syrup (can be substituted with sugar)

1 tablespoon cocoa powder (I added extra because who doesn't love chocolate)

1/2 cup dried cherries (optional)

1/4 cup chopped almonds, divided in half

Coconut shaving for topping

PREPARATION:

In a medium pot, combine the milk, oats, maple syrup, cocoa powder, and half of the cherries over medium heat. While stirring, bring the mixture to a simmer and continue to cook until all of the liquid has been absorbed.
Serve immediately topped with the almonds and coconut shaving.

*Dark chocolate chips also make a great topping!

*Can be served hot or cold.
