"I know," she smiled. "It's overwhelming the first time."
"Can I sit?" I asked, and I received a nod in response.
Slowly lowering my aching body onto the bed, I was pleased to be met with a mattress that formed to my hips. I laid down, pulling the feather-stuffed pillow to my chest.
Someone chuckled at the door. "If you think this is amazing, wait until you see the Sindrian palace. The maids have fancier bedrooms than this."
I looked up to see Alibaba and Aladdin peering into the room from the doorway, and I pulled the pillow over my face in embarrassment.
"This is all too much," I said.
"You'll get used to it," Morgiana reassured me.
Just as I was about to answer, my stomach growled, making Alibaba laugh. "I think someone's hungry. How about we break into our rations a little bit early?"
Aladdin cheered and Morgiana moved to follow her two friends, but I stayed put.
"Are you coming?" She asked, turning to look at me.
"I'm allowed?"
I could see all three of their mouthes turn down in slight frowns, but Morgiana quickly recovered. Her soft smile returned to her face.
"Of course. I think you'll like what we brought."
I slowly got up from bed, regrettably so. It was so soft that I'd happily be chained to a wall in order to stay in it. I shook my head at the thought, returning my mind back to reality as Aladdin plopped a plump fruit down in front of me.
"A mango," I swooned, mouth watering.
"You know what it is?" Alibaba asked.
I watched as he sliced open a papaya and began handing pieces to his friends.
"I wasn't always a slave, you know. Though it was rare, I had a friend who would always share mangos with me when he found them."
My mind drifted to a certain purple headed king. Although, back then he was much different. Merely a dreamer who had yet to put his plans to action. Too busy taking care of an orphan girl and his father.
"Aren't you going to eat it?" Aladdin asked, his cheeks fat like a chipmunk from all the papaya he was eating.
"Can I?" I asked.
Alibaba slid a small knife across the table. "Of course! Dig in!"
I picked up the small blade and used it to peel back the skin of the mango, and once I was done I didn't hesitate to bite into it. Juices dripped off my chin and ran down my arms, but I didn't care. The sweet, tangy fruit made my tastebuds dance, and the fresh scent brought on a sense of nostalgia I'd long forgotten.
The others stared at me, but I didn't care. I was raised like a caged animal. No one could expect me to not act like one.
"There you go!" Alibaba cheered.
I looked up to see his face covered in red juices from the cherries he'd been eating, and Aladdin had chunks of melon stuck to his cheeks. The only one of us that wasn't a compete mess was Morgiana.
"You can eat as many of those as you want," she said in a soft tone.
I looked down at the mango in my hands. Freedom couldn't have tasted any better.

A couple days later, just as we ran out of mangos, our ship arrived in Sindrian waters.
I leaned as far over the railing of the ship as I could, taking a good look at the country before me.
As the days went on, I found myself becoming more and more anxious about seeing Sinbad again. Not only because I had a fear of him seeing who I'd become, but because I had an even bigger fear eating away at me.
What if he didn't remember me?
"Land ho!" Alibaba cheered, joining me along with the two other members of our crew.
Morgiana stood next to me. "Nervous?"
I looked down at what I was wearing. A loose fitting tunic, matched with a pair of over sized pants that I had tightened around my waist with a decorative rope I had stollen from the hotel in Balbadd. It wasn't exactly an outfit fit for a king.
"Uncle Sin doesn't care about appearance or where a person comes from. He cares about how good a persons heart is," Aladdin said, making me feel only the slightest bit better.
"We have some time before the tide rolls back in. Let's get all our stuff together so that we're ready to unload," Alibaba suggested, and the others agreed with him.
I looked down at the book I had tied in the waist of my pants. I had tried a couple times to throw it overboard, but for some reason I couldn't bring myself to do it.
"(Y/N)! You coming?"
"Yeah!" I called back, running after the three people I had grown to consider my friends.
