The next day, class lecture was over early for us to continue doing our projects. I stole occasional glances at Tsukishima as we began working again. His tall figure, even when sitting, was still towering over me. He was dead focused on the project and currently wasn't saying a word. I needed to ask him a question about the assignment but... that would be embarrassing. What if he didn't hear me because of his headphones?
He must've noticed I was staring at him again because he looked in my direction.
"What?" he asked in an almost scoffing matter. "You've been staring at me a lot recently haven't you?" He asked, continuing to write notes. A smile crept across my face before I commented back.
"Im sorry you are just so ugly, I can't even believe it." I said, trying to fight back laughter as I fiddled with the same black pen. Tsukishima glanced up from his paper, his eyebrows raised in shock.
"What?" I asked him, imitating his voice from just moments earlier. The tall blonde leaned in closer to me, his amber eyes were piercing, reflecting light from the sun streaming through the classroom windows. His annoyed expression turned into a smirk for only seconds.
"There's the y/n I met." He chuckled. For some reason, my heart began to race as a light pink dusted my cheeks. I picked up the heavy textbook on my desk and shoved it into Tsukishima's face. "Ay glasses, You are supposed to be working." I said in an annoyed tone as he pulled back, readjusting his now crooked frames.
"That's ironic coming from you, judging you've only answered one question." He said furrowing his brows. I watched as his yellow mechanical pencil tapped the edge of my paper. Leaving pieces of graphite on the desk.
"I didn't know the answer!" I responded, with offense. Tsukishima tilted his head and rolled his eyes.
"Maybe you should've asked your astonishingly intelligent classmate over here." He said, flipping to the next page in the textbook. For the first time in a while, I noticed his paper, entirely filled out and even more being written. Tsukishima really was something else.
"Oh! Where are they?" I responded gleefully. Tsukishima groaned, tapping me on the head with the other end of his pencil. I laughed, placing my hands onto the desk for support.
Tsukishima immediately went quiet, leaning back into his chair. I stopped laughing, obviously confused, till I heard a voice above my head.
"Miss Y/n, You are supposed to be working on your project, not messing around. You havent even gotten past the first question."
I turned around abruptly to see the teacher looming over me.
"I do not condone this type of behavior, and clearly you are not fit for a group project so I will be making you work alone." My heart dropped as his cold eyes peered onto me and his words sunk in.
"I'm sorry I-" I said pausing for a moment, not sure what to say. I had indeed failed to make it past the second question, so I couldn't argue with him there. I watched as everyone in the room turned to look at me, and panic started to fester within me. I didn't want to work alone, but I definitely did not want to embarrass myself in front of everyone. I began to stutter as I continued to witness everyone's eyes glued to my figure. I started to have trouble breathing, as I heard whispers fill the air, unable to distinguish whether or not they were real or imagined.
A warm hand locked onto my shoulder and sent shivers down my back. I turned back around to see Tsukishima stand up out of his seat.
"Sir, with all do respect I should have been discussing the work with her more, this is a group project after all." Tsukishima said sincerely, as the teacher redirected his attention to him. "I'll fix the issue sir."
The teacher sighed, taking a step back from my seat. "I have faith in you Tsukishima. Don't let me have a problem with you again Y/N." He muttered, walking back to his seat. The class went back to their projects and the room was once again filled with noise. Tsukishima sat back down in his seat, his hand still placed upon my shoulder.
I was shaking as I opened my mouth to speak, but Tsukishima stopped me.
"Be quiet, lets get to working." He said, immediately cutting me off. I nodded as Tsukishima let go of me and went back to the textbook. We sat there for a moment in silence before he began to flip pages in my book. He stopped at one and dragged his pencil down the page. He paused,
"The answer's in this paragraph here." He said, still not making eye contact with me.
"Let me know when you've found it."
Even though his words would be considered rather dry or harsh in some cases, a small smile still crept onto my face.

After practice that day I was picking up towels by the wall before I could leave. I watched as Yachi and Hinata were laughing just outside the door. I smiled, walking towards the back of the gym. Tsukishima caught my eye as he picked up his bag and approached yamaguchi who was waiting for him.
"Tsukishima!" I called out to him. He turned around, tilting his head.
"Can I help you?" He asked rather monotonley.
"Thank you for earlier."
"Yeah yeah, whatever, you are annoying."
(Thanks so much for the support! More is coming :))
