Chloe's P.O.V.

That's all I remember before I woke up in the middle of nowhere, a strong pressure on my chest. Now I'm walking beside a road, no soul to be seen, you gotta be fucking kidding me, I mean, what kind of nightmare is that? How did I end up here? Where am I going? I just hope I'm close to Arcadia Bay.

I walked for at least one hour, when I saw a gas station... but, wait, what the fuck? There's a lot of cars here but only old ones, the gas station looks kinda vintage too, something is definitely wrong. I guess I'll just look for a newspaper and check the date, maybe I just found a nostalgic rich old dudes convention, anyways, I can't just come to these assholes and ask 'Hey dude, what year is it?'.

As I came in, every single person in the room turned their head to me, like I was some kind of alien. I found a newspaper and AM I IN CALIFORNIA? It's Christmas by the way, CHRISTMAS OF 1980?????? Okay, Chloe, calm down, I have 25 bucks, the clothes I'm wearing, cigarettes, a traffic ticket and documents that doesn't mean a thing because technically I'll be born 14 years from now, great. I went to the bathroom to drink some water and put my shit together and decided I should steal some food, hey mom, it's a life or death case here. I got a hot dog and put it inside my jacket, then I got an apple, I'm only paying for the apple.

"What is a young lady like you doing in the middle of nowhere all by yourself?" The cashier asked me while she gave me my change.

"I'm moving to Los Angeles." I said as I tried to make up a reason why I would go to Los Angeles alone, walking. "I took a ride, but the guy left me a few miles ago, got a different way." She just stayed in silence. "Do you know how long it would take to get there?"

"Oh, honey, you're almost there, less than a half hour, but you should hurry, soon the sun will be going down." She forced a smile as I thanked her and left the store.

So here's my plan: I get to L.A., the city of angels blah...blah...blah, try to find a job as fast as I can, tonight I'll try to find somewhere I can stay, maybe I can rent a cheap room. I'm worried about the job stuff, they'll ask for ID? How would I show them my ID? I could make a fake one but in the 80's I guess that's impossible. You got it, Price.

I'm walking down the sunset strip and it looks exactly like my dad told me it did, he spent a part of his youth partying on the strip...Shit, I guess I'm older than my own father right now, at least he's alive. I walked in a record store with a hiring sign. There was a girl working there, ginger hair, freckles, she looks like a friend of mine, Max, but I didn't see her since we were 13, I miss her, but I can't do anything if that bitch just decided she would leave Arcadia Bay without telling me and wouldn't answer any of my calls, fuck her.

"Hey, I saw you're hiring." I said smiling a little bit as I tried to read the name on her name tag, Megan, cute.

"Hi, I'll find the manager." She came back with a half bald guy who definitely doesn't look cool enough to own this place.

"Are you interested in the vacancy?" I signed with the head and he led me to his office, I sat down on the visitor chair. "Do you have a curriculum vitae?" I froze.

"Actually, I don't, but I have experience. I worked at my mom's diner store for at least three years, I'm a great convincing person, I know everything about all types of music, and I'm perfect for this job." I crossed my legs and stopped speaking.

"I'm Sorry, but I can't hire you if you don't have a curriculum." He looks disappointed.

"Please, I really need this job, I was kicked out of my parent's house, I got nowhere to go." I tried my best on the puppy face to this one.

"I'm sorry, I can't." I got up angrily and was leaving the room, the door I just passed has been closed and I heard the manager's phone ring, curious as I always have been, I'm listening behind the door.

"Oh, it's you, yeah everything is fine, Mr. Duncan didn't even notice last month, the guy owns another 15 record stores, he wouldn't notice if we took a little bit more." Wait, is he taking money from the records? That's good shit. "Okay, see you later." He immediately opened the door and caught me in the act. "What are you still doing here?"

"Getting my job." He seemed confused. "I don't think Mr. Duncan would be happy to know his manager is stealing from him."

Five minutes later here I am signing the admission document. The work starts tomorrow, now I gotta find a place to stay and make 23 bucks last till my first payday, I was leaving when the clerk touched my shoulder.

"Hey... Chloe, right? I saw the paper." She seems nervous. "Anyway, I heard you saying you were kicked out of your parents house, I don't know if that's true, but I live with my sister, if you really need you can stay with us until you get a place and receive your payment." Ok, I shouldn't lie to her, but I can't tell her the truth.

"Oh, that's nice of you, thanks..." I started scratching the back of my head. "Actually, I wasn't kicked out, I kida left, things were tough." It seems like she felt happy I opened up to her, but it's sad that I didn't.

"I'm not gonna judge you, I had a disturbed home too, so I get it." I smirked and observed her, she avoids eye contact but our eyes meet once in a while. "My turn just finished so I'll just go get my bag and we can leave."

On the walk home we talked a lot, I told her about my step father, David, my dad's death, everything I could tell her, I did. But I still can't remember how I ended up here, what was I doing before the black out? I mean, I went to Blackwell Academy to talk to Nathan about some drug money, but I can't even remember if I talked to him. She told me about her childhood too, she had great parents but they passed away a long time ago so she stayed a long period of her life with her aunt, who doesn't seem to care too much about her and her older sister, Sam.

When we got home we heard a loud noise, oh my god is that a... Yeah, Sam is having a great time.

"SAM I'M HOME AND WE GOT A GUEST!!!" The door from Sam's room opened but instead of her, a guy got out, he was tall, long black hair, I would like to describe his eyes but they were covered by the messy hair, he looked high.
