“Time won't exist without space, and space won't also exist without time. These two essence are inseparable. They need each other in order to light up and seal their existence,” he said and started looking for something.

The surface of the table is filled with bandles and piles of papers and books, sufficient enough to establish a messy environment for our work place. This is just an artful laboratory room designed in chaos. Apparatuses were improperly placed, devices were left working without any assistance, specimens were stored in a not-so-well area, and personal protective equipments were like mannequins in a shop—intended just to get displayed. In short, this is a place where danger is highly welcomed.

Sitting in front of me—with a busy hand and laborious eyes, he simultaneously rearranged his researches trying to find the precious sheet from his father that would give a following support for his statement.

“You don't have to defend it, I already agreed, Mr. Lim. What I was tryin—”

“That sheet contains the formula about my father's theory regarding interaction between space and time,” he cut me off.

I crampled my sheets in frustration after hearing his words. I stood up and slammed the table just to shake his mind. Some papers fell down as well as his books on his left. With a bit of surprise, he looked at me with a confused expression.

“Time and space aren't matter nor energy, so how did your father arrive with that formula? You cannot measure time as well as the space as physical factors. They don't interact. How could that formula be eligible enough to justify your father's theory?” I asked trying to narrow his claim down to it's ceasing ground.

I bowed my head and claimed my calmness—giving him the opportunity to defend himself.

I was tickling the table when I heard him chuckle. He got my eyes and I was left skeptic.

He smirked.

“Clocks show how fast the time runs. Distances and areas prove how countable space is. Now tell me, aren't they measurable?” he said making me feel as if I was so wrong all along.

“I am talking in essence, Mr. Lim. We both know that space and time were absolute. Those measurements were just product of setting definite standards,” I counterclaimed and I caught his eyes. He intently stared directly to my eyes and eventually laughed afterwards.

Showing his tasteless smile, he reached the other table, acting like my presence is already gone. He started working on his mixture and meticulously segregated his solutions.

I was a bit offended for what he did. He just ignored me as hell. Ready to throw my driving question, I stood beside him, witnessing how serious he was for his chemistry.

"Do you believe in spirit and soul?" I asked out of the blue. My furrowed eyebrows started to settle down as my lips draw a curve line on its ends.

He stopped for a moment and he replied immediately. “Soul is our real identity, and spirit is the breath of life,” he transfered his solution to another test tube without even looking at me. His answer sounds hypocrite but I chose to swallow it. Perhaps, it still makes sense.

In spite of my shame, I continued fishing for his attention.

“Is it really hard to answer a yes-or-no question?” I sarcastically commented. “Anyway, our flesh cannot live without our soul, and spirit binds them together for a life to manifest,” I said and I laughed when I totally got his interest. He faced me with a blank expression and his eyes failed to conceal his urge of opposition.

“Stop this insanity, Tiara. Life manifests because of this special cells which continue to divide, doing its special function for the entire system to get into harmony. This was engineered by the Universal Mind. If you're trying to insert you God, then get off,” he seriously said and carried his solution inside the finalizing device. He scanned the information from the result given by the computer and eventually cussed repeatedly when he realized that he did it wrong.
