Chapter 1

Joyce was on break of chemistry class, sharing a cigarette with Hopper under the staff, until they see Mr.Copper running in their direction and screaming their names.
-Miss Horowitz ! Get here you two!
They run away while laughing of Mr.Coppers face.
They get away and look at each other, laughing even harder.
-Did you saw his face? Oh my god...hahah -Joyce holds her belly of laughing so hard
Hopper looks at her with heart eyes. He had a huge crush on her unfortunately there was this guy, Lonnie.
Lonnie was older than her, he had such a humor, he made her laugh. They were a couple now, which made Hopper really sad. He didn't think Joyce should be with him. Lonnie didn't treat her very well, sometimes he yelled at her for no reason. He was living with Joyce in an apartment and Hopper was their neighbour ,so he could hear everything.
They finished their cigarette and Joyce looked at Hopper. He was thinking about Lonnie.
-Hey Hop, is everything ok?
-Yeah...sure.
He didn't convince Joyce, she was worried about him. She didn't like to see him sad.
-You know, you can talk to me.
-I know babe.
He immediately blushes, she laughs as she hears him excusing him self.
-I'm so sorry, I-I didnt mean to...I...
-It's ok ,Hop. Relax, just don't say it near Lonnie.
-Don't say what? Uh? -Lonnie interrupted their conversation with an angry look on his face.
-Nothing babe...
Joyce's smile immediately vanished, she loved Lonnie but sometimes he acted like a jerk to her and Hopper.
-What do you mean, nothing? You said my name...I'm interested now. So what is it that you and Jim are talking about?
He violently grabs her arm and squeezes it.
-Ouch! You're hurting me Lonnie.-Joyce yells to him as she feels her arm getting numb by the force applied on it.
-Oh really? Guess what Joyce, or you tell me what's going on between you two or I need to have a serious talk with mister Jim Hopper!
Hopper didn't know what to do, he saw Joyce was afraid of Lonnie and he was hurting her.
-Lonnie, babe, I promise you nothing happened! Now please stop! You're hurting me really bad!-Joyce implored
Lonnie didn't stop, he just squeezed her arm harder making her yell in pain.
