Chapter 18

Break

You stuck the key into the copper lock before twisting it open, the lock opened and fell to the floor

Finn opened the door and you took a step back, good thing you did to, because a literal pile of gold coins flooded out into the floor where you were standing previously, inside was what looked like a full armory plus the cold coins cluttering the floor

Your mouth widened in shock and Finn laughed

"There's so many weapons!!" He said excitedly

"Weapons!? look at the treasure!!" You yelled looking at all of it in appreciation

"You should pick out a sword." Finn said looking over all the weapons

"This armor is so cool!!" You gasped distractedly "And all these backpacks and knacksaps." You went over to look at them and a backpack caught your eye almost immediately, "This is perfect." You thought sliding it on, it fit comfortably and was tight enough it wouldn't fall of easily without being uncomfortably tight

You walked over to the treasure and picked out the things that looked most expensive and put them in your backpack, you doubted you could bring all of it because of the sheer amount, plus you didn't want to make your backpack too heavy for the walk home.... Home. You thought, a smile lighting your face

"look at these." Finn said

You walked over the treasure to where he was, there were swords lining the entire wall

Your eyes scanned over all of them before landing on a specific one, your eyes lit up and you grabbed it, you removed the sheath and with a content sigh our closed it and hooked it on your back pack straps

"It's perfect." You said smiling

"You picked one of the best ones here." He nodded in confirmation

"How are we going to carry all this?" You asked, remembering the literal piles of gold, and based off of what happened when he opened the door the gold was stacked at least 5 and a half feet off the ground if not more.

"We don't have to carry it all today, we can leave it here and bring Jake with us so he can help us carry it." Finn said before he seemed to get an idea

"What?" You asked wanting to hear whatever it was

"Well, we have all the keys still, right?" he asked

You nodded

"Why don't we just lock the door again and make this a place for all our extra treasure?" Finn asked

"That's actually a really good idea." You said, that way you guys don't have to use the tree fort as a treasure trove

The only thing Finn took was a sword before you headed out

You both picked up the locks and snapped them back onto the door as you locked them with the key.

When you finished you headed out of the dungeon with another torch

"So, tomorrow you want to start training?" Finn asked you

"Yeah." You said smiling as you headed out of the room with the doors and back into the tunnel,

"It feels colder in here than it was before." You mentioned dragging your hand along the cave wall

"Yeah, it's probably cause it's around 8:30" Finn answered

"8:30!?" You stopped in surprise

"Well yeah, we were in there for awhile, we had to look for the key in the bones and go through the maze and deal with the spiders, the bird room took the least amount of time but was the worst room." Finn explained
