March. The start of a new school year in South Korea. Some are excited to make new friends. Some are nervous since it's their first time in high school and some are already anticipating the summer break. However, two particular students are sharing the same thought. I have to be this year's best achiever. Kim Minju and Kim Chaewon are both top students of ENOZI HIGH. And when they say best, means that only one can be suitable for the title.

Since last year's top achiever has already graduated, the two Kims are arguing whether who will take the throne of Kwon Eunbi, Enozi's best student and greatest student council president the school has ever had.

Before the girl graduated, she actually left some advice for the two: Never let the competition destroy their friendship. Not that they are actually friends, acquaintances is the most accurate word. They are classmates on their first year, they also talked to each other if ever they are paired up for a project or if they bumped into each other on the canteen, hallway or be it anywhere in school. They almost became friends after spending time with each other's house for an assignment or whatever their teachers assign them to. However, after finding out that their school, Enozi High gives honor to a student who has the highest GPA, both gave their best to claim the award. A free pass to any university in the country. KAIST - Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology: It's the school most students dreamed to enter. By students, that includes Kim Minju and Kim Chaewon.

The students who studied at Enozi High knows about the two since both are pretty talented, be it at arts, sports, music and studying. Although Minju might lost to Chaewon in sports, she's the best in arts. Both have their own strengths and weaknesses and when they're together, no one can beat them. And we just hope they realize it someday.

"So, uhh, when are you going to end this 'rivalry' with Chaewon?" Yuri, who is a friend of Minju, sat down at their usual place and asked the girl sitting beside her. They're in the school's bleachers watching students play whatever game they are playing. It's lunch time and Minju's group of friends are trying to pass the time by chit-chatting but as usual, Minju is burying her face on the notebook she's been reading since early morning.

"Can't. I have to win the title of ENOZI high best student." the bookworm shrugged her shoulders and brought her focus back to the notebook she's holding.

Her friends sighed in unison and gave her a look but since her focus is on the book, she didn't give them a spare glance. "This whole rivalry thing is nonsense. You're attention is always on books, you barely give us any of your time. We haven't hang out since forever and when we got the chance you'd always decline us saying you have to study. Like, come on! Give yourself a break. You can't spend your high school life on books and pencils. You have to enjoy it sometimes you know?" Wonyoung, their youngest and baby of the group placed her left hand on Minju's right shoulder and gave her a worried look.

The brown haired girl finally closed her notebook and let out a heavy sigh as she faced her friends and saw worry plastered on their faces. "I'm sorry. But you know how important this is for me. I have to get into that school no matter what."

"But unnie, we don't even know if you're going to be the school's most valuable student at the end of the year. There's so many potential students in this school, especially Chaewon. You know how smart that girl is." Yujin, who was once playing with the students on the field sat beside them after seeing her friends.

Minju raised her right eyebrow. "Are you saying I'm not?" she sounded a little mad and straightened her face at the tall puppy. "No, no that's not what I'm saying. It's just that--" she was cut off by Minju who's head is now low.
