I was pretty relaxed and happy playing the board game, but before we finished the 2nd round, the bell rang and that reminded me of everything I stopped worrying about. As everyone was leaving the classroom, Kotarou walked over to talk to me. Oh no oh no oh no please help someone save me. "Meet me at the old tree swing, we need to talk." He told me, then walked out of the classroom with his other friends. "What was that about?" Blue hair asked. I just shrugged and changed the subject to the festival meetup. I helped clean up the board game and then walked outside with my lunch in hand. I'm pretty sure the old tree swing, is in the forest looking part of the yard that has a lot of trees, flowers, and grass. The school planted a lot of trees in the yard so that the air could be better for you with all the plants. As i was looking for the old tree swing, I found a circle of flowers and got distracted by it. I was about to pick one of the flowers, but I stopped myself. I can't just take anything I want, no matter how pretty it may look. I need to stay on track.
I arrived at the meeting spot, and looked around for kou. "Kotarou? Koootarooou!" I called, trying to find him. Dammit. He's not where he promised to be, again. I sat down on the swing, and felt something pull on the rope. "Hmm? Why did that happen?" I questioned, getting off the swing. All of a sudden, Kou fell out of the tree, but landed on the swing. He looked at me for a minute, and then spoke. "Seems like you're forgetting everything today. Did you get amnesia or something?" Kotarou asked. I was still startled. Obviously I haven't read enough of the book. But I never imagined this would happen! I'm totally unprepared. "I..." I tried to reply but it was getting more difficult to make excuses. "Well... um I... kinda, I guess." I replied, hoping he would just move on from it. He sighed. "If this is a joke, you're getting somewhere, but I suggest you stop." Kou told me. I fiddled around with my fingers. "W-well, what if I-it's not a j-joke?" I asked. "Maybe... I don't know who I am." I said.
He looked like he felt lost. I think he wasn't sure what to do in this situation. "So... what you were doing this morning. When you woke up, you had actually forgotten who you are?" Kotarou asked. I stood still, thinking about what happened last night. It's so weird, even I can't understand it. "I had forgotten who I was when I woke up, but I slowly remembered throughout the day. I'm sure it will be fixed soon. My brain probably just messed up a bit." I replied. I can't brush off the question forever, but if I reply then he knows I'm not myself. But he might be able to help by me telling him... he signaled for me to sit with him, so we just started eating.
"So, do you know the name of the blue haired girl in Saori's friend group?" I asked. He tapped the table with his fingers. "I think her name was... Naoko .... or something. When you get home, find your yearbook. That will help you remember." Kotarou replied. I got out my notebook and wrote down his advice. "Thanks, this will help. Oh! By the way, I'm sorry for what happened earlier. I shouldn't have been spying on you. I also apologise for making you fall over, and scaring you." I apologised to Kotarou. He closed his bento. "It's fine, you're not yourself today. Just next time, try to be more careful. And I'll try my best to make sure to keep things in order so I don't mess up plans." Kou told me. With that, I tried staying normal for the rest of the day.
