It was already late at night, minutes away from morning.
Most people would be asleep by this time, but not Shindou.
He decided to spend all night on a paper due the next day. He had forgotten all about it for weeks, and now he had to pay for it by working on a 10-page paper all night.

The paper wasn't even about something interesting. It was just some boring history. Nothing that would catch Shindou's attention. Nothing that he would actually want to read about if he had the choice. But in this case, he didn't. And he was going to have to do the paper if he wanted to pass the class.

Shindou was home alone. And so was Katsuki.

Katsuki's parents were on a business trip and we're going to be away for the next few days. He didn't mind, they did this kind of thing all the time. What he did mind were the nightmares he had.

Every night since he was kidnapped, Katsuki has had nightmares of what would have happened if the heroes never showed up and saved him. Would he have turned into a villain? If so,  would he like it? Would he like killing innocent people or would he be forced to do it, having the guilt weigh on him for the rest of his life? What if the heroes did show up, but now everyone hated him for becoming the reason for All Might's end?

The possibilities were endless, and so were the dreams he had.

As of now, he was shaking in his sleep, trying to escape the nightmare he knew he was in. He tried controlling the dream, he tried to leave the dream, but nothing worked. He was stuck there.

He started crying. He wanted help, but he didn't know how to ask for it. He didn't want to seem vulnerable. Especially not in front of the classmates he secretly admired.

He was shaking, sweating, crying in his sleep. No one was there to help him. No one was ever there to help him. He's always been alone, trying to solve his problems by himself and why? Because of his pride. He was too prideful to ask for help or admit he needed help. He wasn't going to let people see this vulnerable side of him.

Suddenly, his eyes jerked open and he woke up. He sat up in his bed, tears still falling down his face.

"Stop crying, Katsuki." He thought to himself. "Crying is for the weak, Mom always told you that." He tried to stop crying, but he just couldn't. He couldn't get himself to stop crying. The truth was, he was afraid. Afraid of what would have happened if All Might never showed up. Afraid that his classmates secretly hated him for ending the #1 hero. Afraid of being vulnerable, and weak.

Suddenly he heard a sound. A ring. It came from the floor.

It was his phone, and someone was calling him. He picked it up and looked at the screen. It was Shindou. Since they met they grew pretty close. And sometimes they would hang out at each other's house. Shindou was the only one close enough to him to let him call him "Katsuki".

He answered the phone.

"Hey Katsuki! Whats up?" Shindou said, full of energy. "Hey I just finished my paper but I'm still pretty awake, wanna come over and play Mario Kart?"

Katsuki looked at the clock in his phone. 1:28am. It was too latest night, or too early in the morning to go anywhere. But Shindou wanted him there, and even though he was crying, he wanted to sound tough in front of him.

"Y-Yeah. Oka-Okay. I'll be th-there soon." He said, tears still falling down his face.
"Hey, Katsuki, are you okay?" He asked. "Are you...crying?"
"Crying? N-no I don't cr-cry! Shut up!"
"Yeah, you're crying. What's up? What happened?"

Shindou wasn't going to say it, but he was ready to beat the shit out of someone who made Katsuki cry. He could just imagine what someone would have done to make someone like him cry.

"Look, I just had a b-bad dream. It-it's nothing." Katsuki explained through tears.
"Hey...do you wanna come over? I can help you out."

Katsuki has had enough. He wasn't going to let someone convince him to show his vulnerable side.

"I-I don't n-need help! I'm fine! I'm okay p-pretending to be fine. I'm okay with pretending t-to be okay because no one wi-will get it if they see me cry. I'll-I'll just be weak. I'll just be a weak p-person to them. S-so I'm fine. Really." He said.

Shindou pauses for a moment.

"Katsuki." He said. "You are one of the strongest people I know. Not because of your Quirk. Or your grades. But because of how you can handle your mental instability. You're not okay, you haven't been okay since your kidnapping. But you still out on a brave face and handle it on your own. It takes a lot of mental strength to do that, especially all alone. But sometimes you need to let it out. You can't just think of what people will think of you. You have to learn that it's okay to be vulnerable. It's okay to not be okay. And you can show it. You don't have to keep it in all the time because there are people who are there for you. Like me. So please, come over and let me help you."

Katsuki didn't talk for a while. He was still in tears, but not because of the fear or shock or anxiety from the dream, but because for the first time in his life, someone was there for him. Someone loved him enough to be there for him. And he wasn't going to let that go to waste.

"Okay, Shindou." He said with a smile. "I'm coming over."
