"isn't it a beautiful world Mugo?", Mumbi,my best friend ,asked me as we sat at a cliff near our village watching the sunset.
"It sure is Mumbi",I told her while giving her a smile.

Mumbi and I were more than Friends, for as long as I could remember we always had each other. I enjoyed her company alot. But who wouldn't she was nice and friendly and smart really smart. I loved her. Apart from my mother Mumbi was the person  I treasured most in my village. We had very much in common,we were both raised by a single parent  my mother.

Rumours in the village had it that Mumbi's mother was the most beautiful woman anybody had ever seen. She was adored and loved until she died mysteriously when Mumbi was still young. Sad right? That's not even the worst part. Now being the late -80s , everybody had this misconception that any mysteriouse death was caused by the cursed virus *HIV* .So as Soon as she died people lost all the respect they once had her.

Mumbi's father's became stressed  and started alcohol in hopes that it will help him get through the pain loosing a wife she was once proud of. He bacame the opposite of the man he once was. He did care much about Mumbi because her innocent face resembled her mother and everytime he looked at her he got memories he once had with the person he loved most.

Since my mother and Mumbi's mom were friends she took in Mumbi in as her own and we grew like siblings  since we were  8and 9 years old and now we are 16and 17 I being the older one.

Even though we were like siblings I couldn't help it but I crushed on her but I couldn't tell her....

"Come on Mugo we should be heading back to the village because it will be dark soon",she suggested
"Mumbi stop being so tight,", I said to her as I held her shoulders. I loved how she had to struggle looking me in the eye because I was way taller so she had to turn her head all the way. I always made fun of her shortness and would give me a punch on my skinny arm . It didn't hurt of course and I loved it.

I held her hand as we walked back to the village it had been how we walked since we were young. That was Mumbi and Mugo
