"When I am with you, there is no place I'd rather be." As soon as the song ended I took at my earbuds and glanced at the clock. It read 5:47. "Ugh," I muttered. I lied back down. I woke up at 4:24 and could not fall back asleep. I figured listening to music would help pass time.
Today was my first day of high school. After a summer of hanging out with my best friends, I really didn't want to spend the next ten months cooped up inside. If I had a reason to be excited for school, it'd be for meeting other students.
Kayja and Danielle were my friends back at Saint Joseph's, a private school. They teach up to eighth grade so we have to go to Preston, the main public school in our county. It's going to be so intimidating to be around so many students who already know each other pretty well. Luckily Kayja, Danielle, and I have each other. I can't wait to compare classes with them!
