Hello Burr here! This is the first story I'm writing so I hope everything is chill. Please feel free to leave tips and constructive criticism. Hope y'all enjoy! Bye bye!
(P.s. Alden's thoughts are italicized)
Huff! Huff!
The sound of several footsteps echo throughout the grandiose hallway of the academy. Shouts and threats are yelled with no signs of stopping. The moonlight leaking through the windows illuminate the dark hallway enough to see.
Wow. What a beautiful night for a little stroll or a jog through the park or maybe even an action packed chase around the school. Honestly, this never gets old. The rush of adrenaline, the feeling of the cold, refreshing breeze on my skin, and the nonexistent chance of being caught will always make my day.
"Stop him! Huff! He can't get away with this!"
"C'mon guys it's just a little run! What's wrong? Getting tired already?"
"Keep going! We've almost got him!"
Yeah right. No way in hell are they ever gonna catch up to me. I even made this chase easier by not using my wings! The only people that can ever catch me now is the King and his posse but they're not even on campus right now. All I gotta do now is turn this corner and I'm home free-oof!
As he turns the corner Alden bumps into something firm and stumbles backwards. His thoughts are cut short when he realizes what he has just collided with. He is met with a bored, unamused glare that he knows all to well.
Shit.
"Stop running and give up already Alden. You've caused enough trouble for everyone."
Oh no. Not him. He was supposed to be on a trip for the next couple of months. Ugh, why me?
Alden, while trying to regain his posture, stares at the man back trying to match the intensity of his glare but fails miserably due to the pain from the sudden collision. They both stand there in silence.
"Are you just going to stand there or are you going to speak?"
"Well, well, if it isn't the King. I'm sorry your majesty but I don't think that will be possible."
"Hmm. I see. So be it."
Huh? Be what?
"The last time I checked, you couldn't even land a punch on me. So what can you possibly do now?"
"What I always do. Drop it and kneel."
Before he could even get a word out Alden's body obeys and drops whatever it is that he was holding and kneels before the man in front of him, grimacing at how easily he his body followed through with the order without even putting up a fight. The man makes his way towards Alden and picks up the item that he's dropped, making sure that it hasn't sustained any damage.
"Ow. That's hurts, you know?"
"I don't care. I've told you countless times Alden, but you never listen to me. Just obey the rules and follow orders."
"I'm pretty sure I've made it very clear that I will never follow your orders."
"Then it's time we fix that, shall we?"
