The coyote paused as the two pups took a seat to listen, ears up and facing towards him, eyes wide with wonder.

"Now these dragons ruled over the world, and kept an eye out for anything they saw as traitorous or unjust, and they had control over everything and everyone... but some got a bit greedy with their power, and began to abuse it..."

"Did they fight?"
Crescent asked with a gasp, leaning in closer.
Lupe nodded as to echo his question.
The coyote gave a breathy and tired laugh, putting the figure back in its place.

"Yes, there was a war... and it lasted years, and because of that not many dragons exist now, but they're still alive, just hiding away, ashamed of their history..."

"They're hiding? So, their still here?"
Lupe murmured looking around, her ears were now pressed back against her head.
Crescent flopped his back as well and then looked up to the old coyote.

"Oh, no, the dragons are not in here... you'll be lucky to even spot one nowadays... most dragons took to living in deep caves under the ground, no longer in the air, and all the sea dragons stay far far away from shallow waters."
He said waving his paws as if to wipe away their worry.
Crescent took a breath and relaxed, he didn't really feel like seeing a real dragon today.
Lupe rubbed her head with her paw and then got up, glancing at wall of cups again.

The coyote also got up, returning back behind his counter and fiddling with a few things.
He kept an eye on the two, though Crescent assumed he just didn't want them stealing his items.

"Crescent, I like this one, do you think I can get it?"

"Maybe, let me check what dad gave me..."
He pulled the pack off his back and then peaked inside, there were a few different things wrapped up, and a small pouch for coins, Crescent took the pouch and opened it, counting out his coins and then checking the cups price.
Lupe waited patiently and looked over the cup again, making sure she didn't want to change her mind.
"I think I have enough... you ready?"

Lupe nodded and took the small cup from its place on the wall, carefully as she didn't want to drop it.
The two then went up to the counter and Lupe sat the cup down, Crescent then placed five coins beside it and waited for the coyote to notice.

That didn't take long as they were his only customers at the moment.

"You two sure this is what you want?"

"Y-yes sir..."
Lupe mumbled, looking to the cup and then up to the coyote.

"Alright then, I see you have silver coins, all nice and dandy, is this all you want? Nothing more?"

The two looked at each other and then back to the old coyote, shaking their heads.

"Fine fine, I wont ask no more."
He laughed and took two of the coins, scooting the cup towards Lupe and then the three other coins to Crescent.

"Did I pay too much?"

"Nah, but you need a bit extra for your meals. Say nothing of it, you two have a nice day now, don't go getting into trouble."
He warned half heartedly, smiling at the two with a warmth that reminded Crescent of the old wolfs in his village.
"Thank you sir! We'll be good, I promise."
Crescent yapped and Lupe nodded in agreement, then they left the store to look for Faoilin.

They hadn't taken two steps from the shop when they saw a few coyotes gathered around a small trail of smoke, Lupe's smile turned sour and she rushed off to see what was happening, Crescent followed close behind and they both pushed through the crowd to find Faoilin, standing front and center, showing off.
His tail was ablaze and he was showing off a few basic looking tricks that Crescent had seen a million times.
But the coyotes were eating it up, Loaf was in the crowd in the front row, watching the show as if he had never even seen fire before.
A few clapped when Faoilin paused to take a breath, Loaf giving his own applause.
Then to Crescent's surprise, about three of the watchers tossed coins at Lin's paws, one even asked for an encore.

"You guys want to see some more?!"
Lin asked loudly, panting from the heat but clearly enjoying his fame.
Lupe shook her head but sat down and continued watching, she knew as well as Crescent that this was a bit overdone, but if they could get paid....

Lin continued his tricks, gradually trying more and more difficult moves with more flames

And gradually more and more coyotes gave their coins, Loaf thanked each one after Lin finally was done for the day, and the crowd left.

Lupe got up and showed off her new cup, Lin seeming to forget about his performance to listen.
Loaf stretched out and then tapped Crescents shoulder.
"You guys still up for lunch? Or well I'd guess it would be dinner now."

Crescent then turned to his friends and asked them if they were hungry, both of them seemed excited to eat, Lin mostly as he had wore himself out.
Loaf lead the way to a small shack, looked a bit old but the furnishings were clean and cared for. Crescent liked that in a building.
Loaf opened the door and held it for the pups, letting them inside before he walked in himself.

"Loaf it's been a little while since you came in for dinner, oh look at that, these cuties yours?"
A lovely brown coated coyote asked, her tail waved as she looked at the pups.
"It has been a bit, hasn't it... but no, these are not my pups."
Loaf replied stepping forward, then continued.
"valentine I need a table, if you don't mind."

"Anything for you, come this way, Oh! Do you want your usual Loaf?"

"Yes ma'am I would like that."
Valentine lead the group down a few rows of tables and then sat them down at a nice round one, Crescent hadn't seen a table this round ever, most in his village were rectangular.

Once everyone had sat down Valentine then turned to the pups.
"What do you three want? We have chicken or fish of most any kind, or if you want I can make you some eggs."

"I want a bass! Like a big one! Please."
Lin was eager to eat, and he sounded pretty excited about fish.
Lupe thought for a moment and then leaned up to Crescent, whispering in his ear.
"I want an egg sandwich..."

"Oh uh, Lupe wants and egg sandwich please, and I want chicken. But can I just have the legs?"
Crescent asked giving his tail an quick wag.
Valentine nodded and then turned back to Loaf.
"One tuna sandwich, one bass, an egg sandwich and some chicken legs, that should be done soon. Loaf if you or your friends need anything else don't be shy to ask."
And with that she was gone, disappearing into the kitchen.

Loaf smiled as she left, watching her for a bit and then turning back to the pups.
"Alright then, I promised to explain myself... do you three still want to know about dragonwolfs?"
