A couple of months have passed since you first came to Bygone Island. Since then, you have grown quite acquainted with your friends. Tails appreciates your help whenever you offer it, you enjoy talking to Amy about a variety of subjects, and you enjoy doing workouts with Knuckles every once in a while. The one you were most acquainted with was Sonic. Ever since the whole "Eggman the roommate" debacle, Sonic returned to his shack, and gladly invited you to live with him. He enjoyed your company, and you enjoyed doing lots of fun activities with him. Yes, your new life here was the absolute best.

One day, you and the gang were taking a much deserved day off on the beach. Sticks and Knuckles were playing volleyball, Amy was reading a book, and you and Sonic were just chilling. You weren't wearing your regular T-shirt and jeans; you were wearing sunglasses, shorts, and a sports bra. "There's nothing like a lazy day on the beach." Sonic said. You turned your head to face him. "You can say that again, bro." you said, and the two of you fist-bumped.

The volleyball landed right next to Amy, who threw it right back to Sticks. She sighed and said, "It's nice to breathe in that beautiful salt-water air and relax. For the first time, I feel totally stress-free." 'That's nice.' you thought to yourself. As she said this, Tails was walking in with something under a cloth. "Hey, guys." he said. Sticks screamed upon hearing that, and got in a defensive stance. "What did you say about being stress-free?" you said, quietly enough so that only you and Sonic could hear. You two chuckled.

"I just perfected my most brilliant invention yet." he said, as he removed the cloth unveiling his invention. "Meet UT, the Universal Translator. Designed to translate any language into our own." Everybody looked at it, you being the only one applauding. "Allow me to demonstrate." Tails said, pointing to a mother bird and her babies. The robot beeped as it translated the chirping noises into words. "The fact that you pre-chew my food is repulsive." UT translated. You chuckled at that.

"Hey, it works." Knuckles said. Unexpectedly, the robot continued translating. "Didn't see that one coming." You were surprised, and Knuckles was simply confused. "Um...it's still talking." he said. "I thought this thing just translated birds." Tails realized what was going on. "Since what you're saying doesn't need to be translated, UT is translating it into what you really mean." he said. "I didn't intend for it to do that, but I will gladly accept full credit."

You applauded. "That's very handy, Tails." you said. UT turned to you. "Your invention is very impressive, especially with the ability to translate meaning. I hate it when people don't truly say what they mean." Amy spoke up, "That's great, Tails." UT sped past her. "Pretty lame."

You were shocked to hear that. "Amy, how dare you?" you said. "That was very disrespectful." You could tell the embarrassment in the pink hedgehog's face. "I didn't mean that at all." she said. "Man, I am totally busted." You felt that Amy's face was on the verge of turning red. "Tails, I think it needs some more work." she said. "If that thing doesn't shut it's metal trap, I think I might die."

Things were now getting real crazy. You watched as Sticks looked and pointed at UT. "Wait. This thing reads minds?" she said. Clearly, she meant what she meant because the robot said the same. "Wait. This thing reads minds?" She was going complete bananas. "Get it out of my head." she yelled. "Get it out of my head." Sticks was about to attack UT, but Knuckles restrained her. "Now, now. Calm down, Sticks." he said. "Take it easy, whack job." Sticks was angry with what UT said Knuckles meant. "Hey." she yelled. "I am displeased."

Sonic tried to step in and calm things down. "Don't be offended, Sticks. Knuckles didn't mean to think that." he said. "He's not the sharpest tool in the shed." Knuckles growled in anger at that statement. "Wow, Sonic." you said. "Now you're playing the insult game? So uncool." "I thought you were sweet and honest." That made you blush a lot. Sonic too. "You...thought I was sweet?" he asked. "Well, yeah." you said, putting your right hand behind your back. He smirked at you, and seeing that smile made you smile a little too.
