Almost a week passed by and still, no trace of him. Their search radius expanded by miles and miles, all of the avengers along with the hundreds of agents covered hundreds of square miles to try and find any sign of life but absolutely nothing came.

That week, tony couldn't sleep. He spent all of his time in the lab running facial recognition programs and sending out his iron fleet through the forest.

Clint, Natasha, Maria, even fury tried to get him to leave the lab but he eventually just left the door locked to not let anyone in.

The first day after his disappearance, tony spent it out in the woods. Sending orders out to friday and the rest of the avengers, following any possibility of where steve could've ended up.

The second day, he did the same. This time, he was much more aggravated and frustrated. Shouting at the agents and his teammates.

The third day, he broke down. After hours of not finding anything that day he landed in a pile of snow and broke down in tears.

The fourth day, he locked himself in his lab, sending more and more of his iron fleet to basically search the areas that have already been searched thoroughly by him and everyone else.

The fifth day, he did the same as the fourth, but more bots for his iron fleet. Natasha tried getting the door open. Slamming on the windows and tinkering with the lock, all tony did was ignore her and turn his music up even louder.

The sixth day, he passed out. He stood up to fill his cup of coffee but collapsed on the floor. During that week he didn't eat or sleep at all, so this wasn't much of a surprise. Because of this, Friday enabled all of the doors to unlock and get medical to him.

The seventh day, he woke up in a hospital bed with IV's. Natasha, Clint, Wanda, and Thor were all sitting around the room. He immediately sat up in his bed and started getting up.

"No, no tony you need to rest" Natasha tried to call him down but he was persistent on getting out of that bed.

"Absolutely not, my husband is missing." He tried pushing her out of the way but Thor backer her up and kept him down, "get off of me I need to find steve!" He screamed and fury walked into the room.

"Stark!" He shouted and went to the other side, "stop it, stop it!" He grabbed one of his arms.

"I need to find him" he laid back and tears formed in his eyes, "I need-I need to find him"

Fury loosened his grip and looked around the room and nodded to them. "Tony, we can't find him" he said quietly.

Natasha cut in and sat down on the edge of the bed, "tony..." she paused and put a hand on his shoulder, "tony he's gone..." she finished and held back tears herself.

He started crying uncontrollably, "no... no—he's.... NO!" He started fighting everyone to get off of the bed but Thor's grip on his shoulders kept him in place, "stop! No— I need to find him! I need him..."

"Okay get the nurse" fury said to Clint who rushed out of the room and came back with a nurse behind him. She had some sedation with her to calm him down and slow his heart rate.

"No! Stop it! He can't be dead! He's— no!" He tried fighting the nurse but Thor held him down as she injected it into his IV.

He slowly drifted off and the rest of the team collapsed in their chairs around him.

"He's gone" Natasha repeated, still in disbelief of what was going on.

Fury stuttered with his words, "I need to send out a report... we're— he's-he's presumed .... dead" he shook his head at the thought and rubbed his forehead with his hand.

Steve was a friend to everyone, he helped whenever he could, work or personal, and always had all of his teammates back. None of them could believe he was gone.

"I can't believe this..." Clint shook his head and held back tears, "I cannot fucking believe this" he but his face in his hands and cried.

All of them sat there in silence except for muttered cries about the room for the loss of their friend.

They had a funeral a couple days later, it was nice. People lined the streets with American flags and saluted as the hearse carrying an empty casket drove by.

Tony was asked to give a speech but could barely muster the strength to get up there. So Natasha wrapped her arm through his and guided him up to the stand. He stood up there, with Natasha close by behind him. He scanned the packed room for a minute before starting.

"Th-thank you all for coming." He paused completely blanking on what to say, he played with his wedding right as he continued, "as many of you know, steve Rogers is—w-was my husband. He was my world. All of you got to know him as captain America, the man who fought in the Second World War and brought us to victory, the man who selflessly saved the lives of millions without hesitation." He paused and wiped away a tear from his cheek, "but I got to know him as steve, and he was exactly as someone would expect. He was kind, selfless, and knew exactly how to brighten anyone's day." He stuttered and tried to get his hands to stop shaking, Natasha walked up behind him and rubbed his back, "one-one of my favourite memories with him... he-he set up a picnic on the roof of my tower," he smiled at the memory, "we'd just come back from a mission and we were both too exhausted to make anything, so he ordered a bunch of food from my favourite restaurant and we just sat there under the stars. It was small, but it was all the little things he did for me and everyone around him." His smile was replaced by his sorrow again, "he-he will always be missed, and forever honoured and cherished in my heart. Thank you to everyone for all of your support." He nodded slightly and rushed off the stage with Natasha right behind him.

Instead of getting back to his seat and ran out of the room and rushed to the washroom across the hall. He fell to his knees in front of the toilet and started hurling.

"Tony?" Natasha said quietly and walked into the restroom. She could hear his groans and grunts as he spewed out his insides, "gosh tony" she exhaled and kneeled behind him. She put a hand on his back and tried to soothe him as he vomited in front of him.

"This can't be happening," he mumbled and wiped his mouth with some toilet paper. "This cannot be fucking happening." He rubbed his forehead and started to cry again.

"Your speech was really nice," she said "and you're right, were all going to miss him," he turned to him, "so damn much." She finished and tears started to fall.

He wrapped his arms around her and balled on her shoulder, "this isn't fair..." he mumbled and she hugged him back tightly.
