The familiar school grounds came into view as she'd tugged on forward, refurbishing her hold over her bookbag as she'd carried on with herself, into the sea of bodies of her classmates, strangers, and others. As she'd passed blurs of people, new and old, she couldn't help but feel nervous.
Her hoodie collar had hung low around her neck, her nervous but seemingly calm hands tugged it back up mid-way. She'd kept her gaze at objects instead of faces, not wanting to seem like a gawking loser. The chatter between students was as loud as ever, and just as ecstatic. The 3rd years, her grade, were talking about the teachers. Gossiping about their habits and what the senior friends now long gone had told them over the summer. It had been a month since school had started, and nothing was still set in stone just yet, and orientations were still going ahead.
Her legs dragged behind her up to her locker, her hands taking upon the mindless task of taking her books and things out of her bag. She'd grabbed her pencil case and notebooks, to finish off the small stack of items was the cherry on top: her new favorite novel.
She couldn't help but feel the presence of someone behind her, but decided to ignore it and go ahead to homeroom, listening to the whispers of gossip going around groups in the hallways and tuning out the insults and lover boys teasing their most likely temporary relationships.
They were called 'high school sweethearts' for a reason after all.
The seemingly familiar classroom of Ms.Everqueen came into view and with it a small smile in return. She couldn't help it, Ms.Ever seemed to get her the most out of all people in this school. She'd even let her go to the library if she were done with her work early and had no missing assignments. There wasn't without a doubt a reason not to love her. Even Parker, the flirty and popular mischievous troublemaker seemed to at least reason and listen to her. A real shocker there.
She'd stepped in the room and was greeted with a familiar smile she'd come to know as Ms.Ever's. The tall woman stood at 5"10 and without a doubt with her stilettos was well over 6 feet. She'd worn pale rose pink lipstick that made her chocolate brown eyes shine with warmth. Her dark, tar black, curly permed hair had came down to her chest, standing out against her creme colored sweater and dark ripped jeans. She'd smiled as her hands tapped against her desk patiently.
Carolina returned the smile and set down her items onto her favorite spot.
"Linne?" Mrs.Evers called in her sweet, low-tone voice that was so warm, it was like hot coca in the mornings.
"Yes?" She'd responded, and gotten up, tucking her book under her arm, against her side.
" I know homeroom starts in 3 minutes, but I really need you to deliver these supplies," she'd gestured to the woven brown basket full of school supplies and some tissues, wipes, and other stuff. " to Mr.Westler's room."
Carolina stifled her groan of dread, no practically swallowed it back.
" You're gonna be late back to here, but I'll give you a pass and not mark you tardy. I just really need you to do it for me."
She leaned in and whispered softly to her. " I can't trust any other of your classmates 'cause they're known to ditch their class."
Carolina nodded softly in response. Ms.Evers had a point as usual. She'd cupped her dark caramel hands and nodded again.
" Alright Ms.Evers. I'll help you out." She'd said with her calm smile. She'd let go of the hands and collected the basket, forcing herself not to lift it with her shaky nervousness.
Mr.Westlers class was what was known as the "popular class". Wanna know the reason why? Well, no you really don't but here's what's up. That class, is everyone who isin't a part of the popular people in schools worst nightmare. Because it is, quite litteraly, made up, of the popular kids.
For someone as invisible and as low in the social satus because of it, to Carolina...it was an utter worst nightmare situation type of deal.
Of course though, she would never have the heart to turn down the sweet and charming as ever Ms.Evers, so here she was.
Ms.Everqueen quickly wrote the pass, scribbling down all the deatails much faster then Linne's eyes could read and comprehend. She handed it to her with a quick, "Now out you go" and ushered her outside to the hallways.
Going back into the bustling hallways full of people basking in the few minitutes of freedom and the ditchers waiting to get out of this hell hole. She couldn't blame them. She wanted to leave too.
But if Nana found out about her doing that she'd come home to find herself getting a beating. Maybe not litteraly?
So, she'd dragged her dead terrified self through the hallways, dreading every second as one hand clung to the basket, and the other to her hall pass. The sooner I get this over with the faster I get out of here. The sooner I get this done the faster I'm outta there. She'd repeated to herself.
Her lips parted in slightly relief and dread as she'd came to the room in no time what so ever.
Not mentally prepared for this, she'd clasped the door handle and pushed against it, prying it open easily and quickly.
All eyes were on her now.
