Wings of Fire The Next Generation Book Two

Chapter 1 Turtlejou

Kinkajou was MEGA exited and confused. She and Turtle had been dating for almost a year and this was the first time that he had been so secretive about it. What ever it was she knew that he would tell her eventually. Just as she thought this Turtle flew down and said.

"I'm taking you somewhere secret so close your eyes".

Kinkajou did and let Turtle lead her up into the sky. It was strange flying without her sight but fortunatly they didn't have far to go. Her talons touched ground within a few moments and Turtle told her to open her eyes. 

"Wow" Kinkajou said.

They were looking at a place where the river tumbled over a waterfall a large one with two large rocks big enough for a dragon to land on. At the base of the waterfall was half of a small cave big enough for a few dragons. Directly in front of it was a rather large island with a few small bushes and trees; and a small feast of fruit and fish. It was very pretty because the rocks made two sort of water walls on either side of the island and from there was a great view of the river as it wound its way into the rain forest.

" How did you find this place?" she asked

"I didn't I asked Mightyclaws to draw it for me."

"Its amazing"

"Kinkajou I asked you to come here because I want to tell you that you are even more amazing that this place. You saved all of Pyrria and I want to know if you if you if you'll marry me." 

But before Kinkajou could say anything a shriek cut through the forest. A log was drifting toward the waterfall a dragon was trying to fly away but the strap of her pouch was caught on the log and she was drifting farther and farther. Before Kinkajou could do anything log and dragon plummeted over the waterfall. 

A streak of dark green flashed to the waterfall Turtle wasn't big enough to catch her but he slowed her fall and both of the plunged into the river. Turtle came up and the two of them pulled the dragon to the small island. She coughed and sat up shaking water of her wings. 

"Are you okay" said Kinkajou 

"I'm fine" snapped the new dragon.

"Wait where is my bag" she turned her black eyes to Turtle her poison tipped tail flew up.

"Stop" cried Kinkajou

"Its right here you don't have to get all hostile about it."

The strange dragon inspected the pouch and than settled it back around her wing.

"Who are you" asked Kinkajou

" I'm Rosegold " she snapped " before you ask yes i'm a hybrid my parents were talons of peace, they were on a mission that would take several years. They fell in love on the mission and planned to leave the talons when their mission was done. My mother and and father had a fight and so she didn't tell him she was with egg. Before they could make up their mission was found out, my father was killed and my mother was taken prisanor and eventually rescued. She fled to the claws of the clouds mountains where she hid my egg and kept working with the talons of peace. Her work was dangerous so she wrote a scroll about everything that had happened to her and left my necklace with it. ( Kinkajou had noticed the rose gold chain with small ruby around her neck carved like a bird on top of a small gold dune but hadn't asked) She died at some point because I hatched alone and i've spent my whole life trying to figure out how my mother died"

"Now do you know where I might find Peril of the skywings or Webs of the seawings?

" Yes" said Turtle " They're at Jade Mountain Acadamy. 

"Take me there now" she said.

                                                                 Two days later

The three dragons had been flying over the mountains for two days and Kinkajou was wishing she and Turtle  hadn't agreed to take the mystery hybrid dragon to JMA. With her large wings, pale gold and red scales, horns and barbed tail they knew she was a skywing\sandwing hybrid. She also often had to wait for them to catch up because she flew so much faster. However they were finally here and Turtle was leading the way to the Sunny's cave. 

           Sunny picked up the scroll she was carrying and swept down the hall to Clay's cave where Clay, Peril, Tsunami, Starflight and Moonwatcher already were she had barely stepped into the room when Turtle and Kinkajou burst in. 

"Kinkajou what are you doing in here" asked Clay 

But just then another dragon swept in. 

"Are you Peril " she asked 

"Yes" said Peril

"Are you four the dragonets from the prophecy" 

"Yes" said Tsunami

She bared her teeth at Tsunami and said. "Peril what do you know about a dragon named Kestrel?

"Kestrel was my mother" said Peril "She was killed by Blister during the war".

"Blister!" she roared. 

"Um is there a reason your asking us this?" said Starflight "You seem to not like the four of us". 

She pounced on Starflight so fast they had no time to move, pinning him him to the floor she snarled "I dispise all the dragonets of destiny its your fault i'm an orphan!" she stepped back of Starflights wings. "You owe me, all of you!" her tail arched toward Starflight's heart and she snarled at Tsunami "You will help me find out more about my father and my mother or i'll kill him.

" Who are you!" snarled Tsunami"

"I'm the daughter of Kestrel and Dune.
