Charlotte Smith sat down in her seat as an older woman, Ms. Thorn, brushed her blond bob. Charlotte wasn't able to see anything. She had no senses except for touch, which she gained after ten years of credits after serving Mrs. and Mr. Bell, a wealthy 30-year-old couple. Once she was 20, she would gain her sight.

Today, was like no other day. Charlotte was required to help clean around the Bell family house. She didn't need her sight to navigate the house since she was able to memorize where each hallway led her simply with her touch. She was able to differentiate each person's touch by now. The Bell couple had soft, neat hands while everyone else at The Home had rougher hands from all the work.

Charlotte had never met her parents. It was a requirement that right after a senseless mother gives birth, her child is taken away and sent to the home, where they are trained. They are given medication, said to ease their minds as they adjust to seeing nothing. Little by little the dosage is lowered as they grow older and gain more credits from work. The family they are serving will file a paper every ten years, giving them credits to gain their next sense. After you gained all five senses, you would be sent to live with the privileged.

But some people are born privileged, like the Bell couple. Nobody seems to know how or why. Nobody questions it and simply move on with their senseless lives.

Ms. Thorn was the head of the home. She was 56, meaning she had gained all of her senses, yet she decided to dedicate her life to the rest of the senseless children. She was a kind woman, always helping them navigate through life. But she had a soft heart for Charlotte. Ms. Thorn always checked on her first before the others. The others were rather jealous of Charlotte's place in Ms. Thorn's heart, but she always reassured that she loved all of them equally.

Ms. Thorn grabbed a lovely pink floral vintage dress for Charlotte to wear to work today. She knew that though Charlotte couldn't see the dress, she would love the way she could spin in it. She helped her into it and spun Charlotte around and watched as she moved in excitement.

She grabbed Charlotte's medicine and a cup of water to down it. It was time to work now.

"Its time to get going, everyone!" Ms. Thorn yelled out to those who could hear. For those who couldn't she signed out to them. Everyone rushed to help out each other. The deaf helping the blind. The tasteless helping the touch-less.

Finally, everyone was ready. Ms. Thorn and Charlotte walked hand in hand to the homes of the privileged, where the Bell couple would be waiting patiently.
