Interstate Connection

Prologue One

Margret P.O.V. 

October 7, 2019

     "Alright class today we are going to start a project that will last a few weeks" Ms. Benson announced to the class. 

     That all Margaret need was to get paired with someone who wouldn't do any work. Its her junior year and every grade counted towards trying to get into school. The class around her started to get loud with trying to find a partner or two to work with during the upcoming project. Any thing these people could do to talk for 90 minutes they will especially if they can do it with their friends. 

     "Okay everyone quiet down this is not a group project per say, your partner won't be in this room they will be from a different school, starting today everyone is getting pen pals." Ms. Benson was the only one excited for this. 

     This is all I need is to message some kid who doesn't know anything about me that will ask stupid questions like whats your favorite color. I need this senior writing class to be able to take more AP classes next year but, I feel like she thinks we are freshmen. 

     No  one is going to want to talk to me when they find I am the loner of the school, maybe I don't have to tell this person everything.  I wonder who we will be writing to will they be in the same sta- 

    "Ms. Benson what school are we writing to and do we get to pick the person." Colleen the senior queen bee speaks up over my thoughts. "Well the school is called Blair Academy and they will be choosing, everyone will write a letter signing it 'Your Pen Pal' and your name. The teacher in the adjoining class will distribute them at random to her class. No one will know who they have till you get a letter back, everyone will have there own pen pal since each class have 15 students." Ms. Benson explains to answer everyone's questions at once. She continues to explain we don't have to share are full names and we won't be graded on what is written in the letter. Only how long and frequent they are sent. Every time we receive a letter we will have two days to respond, we can write more but ten letters total will have to be written. 

     "Will we have to show you the letter before we send it and do we send it ourselves" Pete asks knowing he wouldn't want to pay the 55 cents per letter. Ms. Benson turns and looks at him to answer, "Yes, everyone must show me the letter  I will take note in how much you write, scan it for inappropriate language and note which letter out of ten it is. I will send the letter out if you can't or just come to me for a envelope and stamp." 

     Ten letters, what the hell do I say to this person, will they actually write enough for me to answer them or will it be all nonsense. "Today we will write the first letter and yes everything is hand written no typing we want it to be personal." She goes on to list what everyone should first include... 

- Name (doesn't have to full name)

- Clubs 

- Sports

- Something you hope to get out of this project

- Maybe something to get to know each other 

   "If there aren't anymore questions everyone needs to start there letter and show it to me but the end of class so we can get them to the other class." Ms. Benson starts to hand out paper to those who needs it. She proceeds to write the address on the board,

Dear My New Pen Pal, 

     I guess we don't have any choice against this my name is Daisy and I guess the only good thing is this isn't a partner project. If i had to work in another group again I don't think I would be able to do it. I don't really do any sports nor clubs, I usually have my face in a book whether it be for class or personal I am just trying to get though school. There is this one quote I always go to, "I was always able to lose myself in reading. Books were a necessary escape I always gladly jumped into headfirst.", by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Not many people have heard of her but I always get lost in her books takes me out of my head for a bit of time. This pen pal thing will give me something to do and I guess a friend for a bit of time. We don't know who we are writing to so I guess you could be a guy so I'm not going to share to much information. I guess that's it for now this is one of ten letters maybe we will keep talking after maybe not.

Hey everyone this is my first time writing on WattPad so bare with me as I figure out the flaws, any grammar errors please tell me. It might be a little while before the next chapter but I will do my best with my work schedule. Everything I write is my own unless I let you know of a co-writer.
