||Christmas time||
Every year during the holiday's Nat goes back to Iowa to visit her parents. So here all 5 of us are in the car, with our luggage, on our way to her parents' house. I'm excited because they don't know that Nat and I are back together. And Yelena can share that she's dating Bucky. So it's perfect.
"Are we almost there?"
"Yes we are about 5 minutes closer from the last time you asked"
"Hey- Sarah has said it more that me"
"Yes, but she is five"
"Ugh"
When we got there we decided to go up to the door and get our stuff later. Yelena and Bucky went up first.
"Lena!!"
"Mom!"
"How are you?"
Mel pulled Yelena into a tight hug.
"Good, you?"
"Good, who is this?"
"This is Bucky, my boyfriend"
"Well it is nice to mee you. I'm Melina and Alex is somewhere around here"
"Nice to meet you too"
They both moved inside, which was our cue, we wanted to have me be a surprise as much as possible.
"Do I knock Mommy?"
"Knock and go"
Sarah knocked and then opened the door.
"Grammy!"
"Sugar bear!"
Mel picked Sarah and up and embraced her.
"Hey mom"
"Nat!"
Mel put Sarah down and walked over to Nat and gave her a hug.
"I would like to introduce you to my fiancee"
"Fiancee? You got engaged without telling us"
"Mom relax you will really like this guy. He's the love of my life"
"Love of your life? But you will never move on from Steve, he's the love of your life"
Hearing that made me so happy, clearly I was brought up quite often during family discussions.
"Mom, he's standing outside right now waiting for me to open the door and let him in, please be nice, you will like him, okay?"
"Okay"
Nat opened the door and I walked inside. Mel's face dropped.
"Hi, I'm sorry that I didn't ask for your blessing"
"...Steve..."
