Ch. 3

I open the door to my dorm hesitantly and am welcomed with a loud squeal 
"Welcome to North Seattle College!" 
I look over and see a blonde girl with her arms in the air
I'm slightly startled by this excited welcome, but at least it's friendly.
"Thanks" I give a shy smile
She comes over to me quickly and hugs me tight.
"My name is Kelly and I'm so glad we can finally meet. Oh my god, you're so gorgeous." she says as she eyes my face and brunette hair
"I'm Emma and you are as well" I say while a take in her appearance. Her hair is mid-length with perfectly done curls. She is dressed in plain clothes however.
"Really? I don't think I am anything special, but thanks. I'm so excited right now. I already feel like we're sisters" she says and I laugh as I place my things on the empty bed and she closes the door
I look over to her side of the room and see that her wall is covered in a variety of mainstream pop culture references and idols. She isn't very Barbie like, but more of your average girl and I like that. I think I will be able to get along with her after all..

When I am finally done settling down in this new small space, I plop on my bed and take out my phone. 
On the screen I see 2 missed calls from my mother, a text message from Matt asking how's everything going, and a few unimportant texts from people I am close with.
I sigh and decide to only reply to my mother and Matt right now with the same message:
Everything is alright, don't worry. My roommate seems really nice and easy going. I'll talk to you soon. x
When I send the two identical texts, Kelly comes out of the bathroom with a simple pastel pink dress on. 
"Whoa why so dressed up?" I question 
She turns to me with her eyes wide
"You didn't think we were going to stay inside this room on our first night here" she says dramatically 
"We?" I raise an eyebrow 
"Yes. We are going to go to that bar down the road and be social and maybe get a guy" she says coming over to me 
"Wait, you don't have a boyfriend right? I forgot to even ask" she nervously asks
I sigh "No, not right now.." 
"Good, so let's go get one. Just not like that..You need to go get ready and I still need to attempt to fix my makeup" she says as she pulls me up from my bed
"Okay, how about you help me pick something to wear and I'll help you have some sexy smoky eyes" I say as I notice her plain eyes
"I've always wanted those, wow thanks" Kelly says with a big smile

About half an hour later, my hair is in loose long waves and I am wearing a tight little black dress. I can barley breathe in it, but Kelly insisted me to wear it by saying it showed my off my 'perfectly curved figure'. I finish off her makeup and quickly text Matt to come if he wants and he can bring his new friends. 
Maybe a night out is what a need?
