"Tell me the whole story from the beginning, Mr. O'Riley."

Well, there was a feel of safeness and comfort in the neighborhood. Children ran in the street and I could hear their sweet laughter on my walk every day. The shrieking and high pitched screams carried throughout the crisp air and brought a smile to my face. For some reason, I still do not know why, I have never met one family. I tarry through the neighborhood and its empty, windows are shut, doors locked, and no sight of life is present. I thought if I came by more frequently I could finally meet a resident of this place. All I desired was to meet someone new, someone to think I wasn't creepy and old. You must know I had no drive to look and peer in their house except to find a friend. The letter I put in their mailbox inviting them to meet me was only a nice gesture of kindness and to get the children from hiding.
