"Stop firing, Lieutenant! You'll hit Della and Jet!" Lunaris said.
However, Penumbra didn't listen and continued shooting.
"You won't stop me from getting home to my family, ya creepy, crawly, crook!" Della shouted, jumping at the moon mite and punching it in the face, which made the mite stagger and Della land on the ground.
"I WILL NOT FAIL THEM AGAIN!" She yelled, jumping on top of the mite.
"Two of my sons have had to grow up without a mother and the other one has had to grow up on the moon!" She screamed while attacking the moon mite.
However, it threw Della off of its back and into the wall.
"MOM!" Jet shouted.
However, she wasn't affected, and she continued to fight. Eventually, after they had been fighting for a while, the sound of a baby crying started. Everyone looked to where the sound was coming from, the rocket ship.
The moon mite walked over to another smaller moon mite, who was the source of the crying. The mite took a piece of the ship and tried to feed the younger one, but it wouldn't eat it.
"Wait... The mite isn't a monster! IT'S A MOTHER!" Della exclaimed.
"Who cares?" Penumbra responded.
As much as Jet didn't like Penumbra, he had to agree with her. Mother or not, the moon mite had taken so much from them!
"The mite isn't our enemy! It's just trying to survive!" Della tried to explain.
"She put herself in danger, faced unknown threats, scoured this entire planet for any scrap of metal..." Lunaris added.
"...because a mother would do anything for the sake of her kids..." Della finished, looking right at Jet.
And that's when Jet understood. He looked at his mother and knew they were having the same thought. He didn't like the idea, but he knew it had to be done. He smiled and nodded.
With that, Della walked up to the moon mite and offered her the golden tooth. She picked it up and tried feeding it to the baby moon mite, however, the baby refused to eat that too.
Della walked up to the moon mite, who turned to look at her.
"Let me try something." She said gently.
"I used to sing this old song to my boys before thy hatched and I still sing it to Jet." Della explained.
Jet knew exactly what song his mother was talking about and he was more than happy to hear her sing it again.
Della looked at the baby moon mite and started singing, "Look to the stars, my darling baby boys. Life is strange and vast, filled with wonders and joys. Face each new sun with eyes clear and true!"
Jet started softly humming along. Penumbra glared at him, but all he did was look up at her and continued humming.
"Unafraid of the unknown because I'll face it all with you!" Della started crying a bit near the end.
The song worked and the baby mite was now calmed down. The mother tried again to feed the baby and the baby actually did eat it this time.
Della then asked the aliens to give her their guns.
"Ooh, good plan!" Penumbra responded. "Lull the beasts into a false sense of security, only to betray them when they're at their most vulnerable!" She continued, both of them handing Della their guns. "Huh, maybe we are becoming best friends!"
Jet glared at Penumbra, but then walked up to Della, who handed him one of the guns. Both of them then gave the mother moon mite them. She gave the baby one gun and ate the other herself.
"Boo! You disappoint me in every way possible!" Penumbra shouted.
Jet just decided to ignore her as the baby moon mite climbed onto its mother and they both walked away. But before they left completely, they turned around and their eyes turned from red to blue.
Della waved goodbye and with some hesitation, Jet did too. The baby moon mite then waved back. The mother moon mite dug into the ground and they disappeared.
Lunaris walked forward to stand by Della and Jet.
"We fought the mites for cycles, and you turned them back, not through battle, but compassion. If we simply share the gold, we will no longer be at war with the beasts. You two have done the planet moon a great service today, Della and Jet Duck!"
"See, Jet? Like I said, 'you need to show everyone kindness! Who knows what might happen!?'" Della told her son.
But suddenly, she began to look sad. She turned to look at the now destroyed ship. She then walked into it and sat down on her knees.
"There's no way I can fix this... Sorry Turbo, sorry Rebel. I tried." Della said sadly, starting to cry.
Jet walked up to her, "Well... what are we going to do then?" He asked, honestly scared to hear the answer.
Della remained silent, when suddenly, Lunaris walked up to them.
"You might not be able to go home, but that doesn't mean you can't make a new one... with us." He told them, holding out his hand.
Jet was shocked to hear this. He couldn't stay here! He had to go to earth! He had to meet Uncle Scrooge and Uncle Donald! He had to meet his brothers, experience being a triplet! But Della actually took Lunaris' hand and he helped her up. She even started smiling!
"You can't be serious about this, mom!" Jet yelled, tears starting to roll down his face. "I wanna go home..."
Della looked at him, but she didn't say anything, she just stared at him with a sad smile.
Jet knew the sad truth, so he nodded, and they followed Lunaris back to Penumbra.

"For too long, the mites have been attacking our home, but my people will hide in fear no more." Lunaris explained as they all walked towards a big rock.
"Neat house. Where I'm from, we call this a rock." Della commented.
"General, am I allowed to disintegrate her yet?" Penumbra asked.
Lunaris just laughed, then he put his hand on the rock, making it glow and opening the moon up to reveal a whole city.
Della and Jet stood there in shock until they walked in and Lunaris announced, "Welcome to Tranquility!"
Then Della became upset, "Wait, this whole time there's been a city here and we've been slumming it in the moon desert!?"
"I told you you were a dummy." Penumbra responded.
Jet rolled his eyes.
"And you guys had food, and weapons, and...GOLD!" She started angry, but once she realized there was gold, she sounded hopeful.
"It's our most plentiful resource! We use it for everything!" Lunaris explained.
"Sometimes we just throw it in the trash...which is also made of gold." Penumbra added.
"Wow! That is incredibly infuriating... BUT AMAZING!" Della exclaimed.
She ran up and hugged Penumbra, "I CAN FIX MY SHIP!"
"Your attempts to wrestle me to the ground are pathetic!" Penumbra shouted, pushing her away.
"See? Best friends!" Della yelled.
She then looked over at Jet, "Jet! Do you know what this means!?"
"WE CAN GO HOME!" They both shouted in unison, smiling widely.
Della then gave him a huge hug, which he returned, and they then ran towards the city laughing and cheering.
