For Every Action, There is an Equal and Opposite Reaction

Chapter 6

"Hi! Della Duck. I have, like, 13 million questions! But right now, I have to get our ship and get back to earth!" Della announced, still digging.

"Yeah... And I'm Jet Duck! Della's son!" Jet continued, more calmly than his mother did.

Suddenly, another alien, a turquoise one this time, walked up to them.

"Stand down, Lieutenant Penumbra." He told the purple one.

"Greetings, earthers." He continued. "I am General Lunaris of the planet moon."

"What!? The moon's not a planet!" Della responded.

Jet chuckled.

"You will treat the vastly superior moon with respect, or you will suffer the ultimate consequence!" The purple alien, Penumbra, shouted at both of them.

This scared Jet and he immediately stopped chuckling and stood there in silence. Della, on the other hand, wasn't bothered.

"Look, I'll suffer whatever consequences you want after I find the mite!" She responded.

"Uh, ha. The courageous warriors of the planet moon have been hunting the beast for more than three cycles! So how exactly is a pathetic earth-dwelling dummy going to find it?" Penumbra asked Della.

"HEY! Don't talk to my mom that way!" Jet yelled.

Penumbra opened her mouth, about to speak, but before she could, the ground broke under them and they fell into a cave.

They all began walking around and checking things out, when Della spotted the moon mite. It whined and everyone else turned around to face it also.

"Hey, I found the mite!" Della yelled.

"Open fire, Lieutenant Penumbra!" Lunaris commanded.

With that, both of them started shooting yellow beams out of their gun-like weapons. This only made the mite angrier.

"Quick! Feed the earthers to the beast! While it's crushing their weak bones, we kill it!" Penumbra suggested.

"Listen, we both know how this goes:" Della started, taking Penumbra's gun.

"First, we hate each other, then go on a life-changing adventure, then..." Della continued, walking towards the mite.

"BOOM!" Della said, jumping up and shooting the mite in the eye.

"BEST FRIENDS!" Della finished, jumping back down and turning towards Penumbra.

"So, can we move this along, Penny?" Della added.

"I don't think becoming best friends with her is a very good idea, mom!" Jet yelled. "And don't give her a nickname! You'll make her upset!"

"MY NAME IS LIEUTENANT PENUMBRA!" She yelled, taking her gun back and chasing after the moon mite.

"Told you so!" Jet said, walking up next to his mother with his arms crossed.

"Jet, you need to show everyone kindness! Who knows what might happen!?" Della explained to her son.

With that, they all ran after Penumbra and the moon mite. When they found the mite, they discovered it sitting on top of the rocket ship. It spit green acid at them, which they all dodged. However, some acid got on the rocket ship and Della and Jet just had to stand there, watching the only way for them to get home getting destroyed. This made Della extremely angry and she screamed, running towards the mite.

Lunaris stopped shooting, but Penumbra continued to.

"MOM! BE CAREFUL!" Jet screamed, chasing after her.
