I'm sure you've heard hundreds of stories about the apocalypse. Have you ever heard of what it's like after? Do you ever think of there being an after, like a never ending battle against creeps and yet you know there are more out there? I know if I told my kid self all of what's happened now she would think it was all just a bad dream. And, it is a living nightmare. Except it's not. I'm fully awake and aware of everything that is happening, and yet I still feel like I'm sleeping. Although my humor has changed horrifically along with the World. I think it's hilarious that this government seems to think they can just go back to the way it was before. But, I know better, they know better, the World knows better! Their efforts are put to shame each and every step - with little victory. However, they still seem to get praise, money, and a voice. I don't need a voice. And these new rescue teams I've been hearing of certainly never even tried. Just by wearing that fancy new symbol of theirs they have voiced louder than their own. Well now I've seen it all. Now only if I-

"Hello?" called a women's voice, interrupting Maylea's train of thought. "Hello is anyone here?"

"I told you, nobody's here! There's no survivors in this dump, this is the third time we've tried! We should leave," the voice was accompanied by another. They seemed oddly familiar to Maylea, but she had heard their voices two times before.

'Perhaps there is no use in hiding,' Maylea thought to herself as she stood up to reveal her location. She was met at gunpoint, but who wouldn't be fidgety when you've seen a thing or two?

"I-I'm here!" Maylea put her hands up as they lowered their guns.

"See, I told you there was somebody here,"

"Well I'll be damned," Maylea was staring at their embedded symbols on their jackets. These were of what people would think of an elite team.

"Have you come to...rescue me?" she whispered, putting on her helpless girl façade.

"Well...I-" the man started.

"Yes, we've come to rescue you, sweetie!" The women answered for him. Maylea forced a smile for them. They put their guns on their backs and made theme selves at home. The women made busy blacking the door, as the the windows were already blocked. Except one. The man looked in the fridge for any food or beverages. All the while, Maylea was holding in her sheer rage.

'Are you freakin' kidding me! Some elite force huh? This is my-never mind it won't matter after tonight anyhow' Maylea thought as she sat down on her old, torn up couch. The man sat right next to her, she scooted away.

"Why does a kid like you have beer in your fridge anyway?" The man asked opening a beer.

The women sighed, "I told you to introduce yourself before you ask question! Sorry hun, I'm Jammie, and my partner's name is Aiden."

'Those names...sound oddly familiar...' Maylea wondered to herself.
